Strain Integrity

Jack Haze is a cross between Jack Herer and Super Silver Haze.  This is a proprietary strain developed by 7Acres.

According to Leafly, “Jack Herer is a sativa-dominant cannabis strain that has gained as much renown as its namesake, the marijuana activist and author of The Emperor Wears No Clothes. Combining a Haze hybrid with a Northern Lights #5 and Shiva Skunk cross, Sensi Seeds created Jack Herer hoping to capture both cerebral elevation and heavy resin production. Its rich genetic background gives rise to several different variations of Jack Herer, each phenotype bearing its own unique features and effects. However, consumers typically describe this 55% sativa hybrid as blissful, clear-headed, and creative.

According to Leafly, “Super Silver Haze, bred by Green House Seeds, was the first prize winner at the High Times Cannabis Cup in 1997, 1998, and 1999. Crossing genetics of Skunk, Northern Lights, and Haze creates a beautiful, sticky sativa that boasts an energetic, long-lasting body high. The uplifting effects are a great for high stress levels or when suffering from a lack of appetite or nausea.

According to 7Acres. “As 7ACRES’ first sativa dominant strain, Jack Haze delivers high THC content with a terpinolene forward profile. Jack haze is one of the few cultivars available with this dominant cannabis terpene, delivering a complex aroma with notes of citrus, pine and warm spice. True to its scent, Jack Haze offers a crisp, zesty, evergreen flavour. In October 2018, 7ACRES went to market with four core stains that were selected for their strong sensory characteristics. As it develops new genetics in-house, 7ACRES continues to prioritize subjective quality.

For the serious cannabis enthusiast, strain hunting is the most fun activity.  7Acres’s proprietary Jack Haze comes in on the higher end of the THC scale at 20.56% (27 July, 2019).  It has a sweet floral scent with hints of lime associated with high cerebral effects.  The smoke is smooth and flavourful with not a hint of harshness just like Broken Coast, or Whistler Medical.

The high hits fast and hard.  Like a jolt of coffee your mind immediately clears and ability to concentrate is the first effects noticed.  Fasten your seat belt because things move quickly from that point because the clear and focus mind is just a passing moment.  In 10 minutes, your cerebral activity intensifies and the world is so much brighter.  There is also energy but not like a Jack Herer where you can start a marathon.  You may feel lightness in body and hence the perception of energy?

After half an hour, the cerebral busyness can make getting things done slower.  Every single thought is amplified and you know what happens when that happens?  Everything slows down in a good way.   You are chilled.   There is a shift after half an hour towards a more heady high, a more hazy high.  The first effect of clear and focus mind lasted no more than a few minutes serving as a launch pad into a cerebral explosion.  It was hard to keep on track in this review.

The high becomes more functional after an hour.  This is a very enjoyable cerebral strain.  It is a strain you need to have a cleared deck and you just sit back and enjoy.  Other cerebral strain, however, can be amazing productivity strain where you can get a lot of things done.  This is not one of those strain … maybe if we dose lower?  It was 0.26 grams tested.  You can try 0.13 grams and maybe that is low enough so you can be productive?  At our test dosage, we could not be extremely productive especially after half an hour our head got heady … hazy.

Activity pairing for this strain may include dinners, social events, movies, walks or just chilling.  This strain at 20.56% THC delivers a solid two hour plus experience.   The ending is a soft landing nothing too draining at all.  We found ourselves satisfied, which means we are not immediately looking for the next strain.

Conclusion

Jack Haze by 7Acres

There is a lot riding for 7Acres on this strain.  Given we are in the midst of an implosion of public cannabis companies, the need to prove themselves to us, the consumers, have never been greater.   We really appreciate the effort in trying to create a new strain because this is what it is all about.  There is a believe that all this strain stuff is Bullcrap.  The argument is that different strains can have similar effects and strains are not a good way of identifying them.  What defines a pure sativa or indica?  There is not a simple answer.

It is true different strains can have very similar effects.  The same strain by different growers have different THC levels and terpenes profile based on how they were grown.  Within this context, a long winded way to our conclusion, Jack Haze is very similar to all the great cerebral effects from Moby Dick, Super Silver Haze, LSD, Grapefruit and on and on.   If you like any of those strains, you should enjoy Jack Haze.

THC: 20.56%

Quality: 8.2

Intensity: 8.3

Duration: 8.7

Total: 8.4

Cost: $52.35 for 3.5 grams

If we did not have a legal distribution system tacking on a 90% increase over the price, we would have a $9 a gram product, which would be priced appropriately by grey market pricing.  As it is, for what you get it is 90% too expensive.  We have to get rid of the government middle man.

7Acres public face is Supreme Cannabis and this is a pure play to cannabis.  Aphria, Tweed and Aurora are cannabis play with a huge consolidation strategy.  They bought all the little guys that can really produce good products.  The concern is the goodwill from paying more than what it is worth from acquisitions.   Broken Coast and Whistler Medical both resides inside consolidators.  Yuck.  So, Supreme will live by the sword or die by the sword.  Jack Haze is one of their swords.  What do you think of this sword?

We are looking forward to new strains from 7Acres.
