Strain Integrity
According to Leafly, ” DNA Genetics developed Chocolope by crossing Chocolate Thai with Cannalope Haze to create their homage to the Chocolate strains of the 1980s. The hefty sativa buds give earthy, sweet coffee flavors that provide a dreamy, cerebral effect. Consumers report a strong, euphoric mental shift that is great when coping with depression or stress. ”
According to TGOD, ” Organic-certified and sustainably grown in living soil, TGOD’s Discover Organic is a bright and uplifting strain with a complex citrus-pine, woody aroma. With common terpenes often found in juniper, peppermint, black pepper, and cinnamon, this Sativa-dominant strain is also commonly known as Chocolope. Limited Edition. ”
A tale of two growers and Chocolope
Our expectations plunged to depths of deep disappointment when we saw 12.64% THC at $39.75 for 3.5 grams. We chose Discovery Organic because it’s Chocolope, a strain we know well from Whistler Medical Marijuana Corporation (WMMC). The Green Organic Dutchman (TGOD) is a public company and this is our first review of their products. There is great anticipation for us in this review and that contributed to our dismay when we saw the THC rating.
Surprise! BAM! Within ten minutes of the session we were fully baked. Lies … the THC rating is wrong. This is not 12.64%. It hits like a 20%+ THC rating. This is not the Chocolope we know and love. This has a killer streak in it. The energy level is off the charts. Your mental cognitive state is super charged and buzzy creating a strong mental lock … like a couch lock.
The “high” started rather innocuously with a lightness and barely detectable mental stimulation at the end of the inhalation session. Without warning to buckle up, the effects intensify quick and with time dilation kicking in by the end of ten minutes, which felt like 5 minutes, calibrating reality is a challenge. Energy levels is electrifying. Cerebral activity explodes crippling your mind by the sheer volume of messages your brain generates. But, there is a haziness to the cerebral creative explosion. It is not crystal clear like Whistler Medical.
WMMC’s rendition is different. We have reviewed 17% THC Chocolope from Whistler Medical. WMMC’s strain gives a warmth to the experience. There is no edginess, which makes the experience feel cold. The taste is smooth. Whistler Medical’s Chocolope prime expression is happiness/uplift. Energy and cerebral stimulation is secondary to happiness. The high is a crystal clear focus sense of being flowing with happiness. It is in our Number 1 slot of the day meaning it is our coffee replacement. If we were to start early for whatever reason, if you need one, WMMC’s Chocolope starts the morning with a bright out look.
TGOD’s Chocolope is a weapon of mind destruction. The high is a cold steel killer that can inflict anxiety. There is an electrifying energy that makes it edgy. The potential of an anxiety attack is right around the corner, which we really like. Our test was based on 0.26 grams. At 12.64% THC, this strain makes the most of every molecule of THC to create a powerful entourage effect. We would not make this our first slot of the day as it was ruined our entire day. This would fit into the midday rotation by virtue of the energy levels. Activity pairing would have to include everything physical. The duration of the high is well beyond our three hour bench mark. We did not notice the decline until 90 minutes into it. Yep, this is a good one.
Conclusion
Discover Organic (Chocolope) by The Green Organic Dutchman (TGOD)
We are extremely impressed with TGOD’s Chocolope effects. It is different than WMMC’s Chocolope. For 12.64%, this is the hardest hitting low THC rated strain we have tried. This strain can cause anxiety and we know the hard cores are looking for this trait because we are. It means there is huge energy and cerebral stimulation to the point it can cause anxiety. This is what we are hunting for. Go crazy.
Comparing Whistler’s Chocolope to TGOD’s Chocolope is like comparing two different strain effects. One is relaxing and the other is electrifying. All we can say is there is a place for each of them. Whistler is for mornings and TGOD for mid-day and evening pickups.

There has been a lot of discussions as to the relevance of strains. Clearly in our review, one strain between two growers produce two different effects. Our take is that nature is hard to control. Looking top down, both growers are using the same growing technique … living soil. Each grower has unique skill sets and the strains respond differently. We do, however, believe the difference between sativa and indica is clearly marked by their effects. This is a sativa strain. While the effects are different in their emphasis, they are all sativa associated effects.
On an investment note, producing excellent cannabis is the first cornerstone in building success and TGOD hits it out of the ball park. Unfortunately, this is a hard sell given the options just in the legal market. We are cheering for TGOD success because they are a Masta Grower. A bit of Brand public profiling would help. TGOD has a lower profile in the Reddit community. We need to see TGOD moving in the same direction as Hexo’s volume pricing for us to buy into the TGOD’s potential. TGOD has the goods but can they deliver? Can you make a living selling 3.5 grams packages?
