Vaping Review Protocol

We are using a Ryot VERB 510 battery, the latest iteration of vaping batteries.  We found pen batteries to be problematic with breakage, leakage at the point of contact between cartridge and battery, faulty contacts and just difficult to transport.  We like Ryot’s contact design and the encasement of the cartridge.  Similar cart encased 510 thread design by other vendors should also work equally well.

RIFF and FIGR appear to be on a more proprietary system for better experience and ease of use?   If we have to buy FIGR battery, it would be a while before we try it.  Opps … bad idea folks.

Proper dosing is key to using distillate.  Beyond 5 draws is the law of diminishing marginal utility.  Our review is based on 2 two-second draw at the lowest heat setting.   Our guesstimate is 50 to a 100 two-second draws in a cartridge?

Cannabis moonshine

Redecan’s Trainwreck 0.45 grams for $34.95 with a THC content of 83.8% was one of the cheapest vape pen cartridge on the recreation market.  Concentrate to flower is like moonshine to beer and wine.  With THC content near a 100%, these are true weapons of mind destruction and it contains only the equivalent of 1.8 g of cannabis.

The effects are immediate.  Upon exhalation of the first draw, we can feel a buzzy mental energy in our head with some lightness of body effect.  Time dilation is immediate.  Second draw immediately kicks the high up another level.  The energy level increase is very noticeable gives a sense of acceleration and lift.  There is creativity but it is not an overwhelming feature.  Keeping this review’s recording on track is very difficult.

Fifteen minutes after the session began, time dilation and short term memory disturbances are in full bloom from only two draws.  The feeling of acceleration does not stop and continues past the 15 minute mark with no sign of slowing down.  Some panic may surface as you realize it is not ending and you are still getting higher and higher.   It’s a similar feeling that we get on a roller coaster ride as we are at the very top before the drop, “Oh No! What did we do?”  It’s too late.  Buckle up!

Tracking time is an exercise in futility.   Energy level is also strong and has a clinical feel to it.  For those who sense digital music as cold because of it’s perfect precision with discreet time division, we sense high THC content as a clinical high experience.  The effects feel very precise.  The expressions are definitive and compartmentalized.  We can literally feel each expression as divisible units.  In a flower experience, our high expressions blend into each other creating a sense of warmth.   Redee Trainwreck cart excels in delivering uplift and some euphoria and creativity.  The later two expressions are harder to detect.

The hour will past quickly and there is little degradation of the high experience.  The energy level is steady and mental activity is a slow Indica pace.  Unfortunately, we have not tried Redecan Trainwreck flower so we have no basis of comparisons between base flower effects and its concentrate form to determine the fidelity of the extraction.  Comparing to Leafly expected effects, Redee Trainwreck excel in accelerating uplift as the main expression with copious amount of time distortion and short term memory challenges.

The entire high experience last approximately 3.5 hours.  The first hour is basically not fully functional.   The remaining two hours is fully functional and medicated.   Activity pairing starts with riding the “high” any way you can and after about 30 minutes to an hour you are free to do whatever you want with a smooth level of energy and mental stimulation.  There is a little bit of tiredness at the end.

Conclusion

This is not your normal cannabis flower experience.  The high THC intensity re-calibrates what is intense.  An immediate side effect is a notable drop in intensity from our favourite flowers re-calibrated.  Imagine replacing beer and wine with moonshine.  Distillate cannabis is moonshine.   The “high” effect is intense with a clinical feel.  The right dosing will require some trials and adjustments.

What we are looking for in concentrates is how close the effects compares to the base flower’s effect.  Early distillates in the grey market performed poorly in replicating the base flower effects.  Those distillates equate to intense time distortion and debilitating short term memory loss.  This has changed with legal distillates.  Legal distillates is superior and cheaper.  Redee Trainwreck Cart can be purchased medically for $25.00.  Grey market equivalent would cost $40 to $45 with less potent effects.  This product category is a home run for LPs.

Redee Trainwreck Cart delivers intense uplift as the main expression.  There is euphoria and creativity but it is very understated.  This Trainwreck does hit like a freight train.

The advantages of distillates is health and convenience.   The challenge is finding the right dosage.  We recommend starting with one draw between two to five seconds.  Take a second draw 5 minutes later and put the distillate away.  Enjoy the effects.
