Strain Integrity
According to Leafly, ” Super Lemon OG from DNA Genetics crosses two notable cannabis strains to create a flavorful burst of lemony OG Kush that is sweet and earthy. A 60/40 indica-dominant hybrid of Super Lemon Haze and Captain Krypt OG, Super Lemon OG produces relaxing body effects that are balanced by the uplifting and energetic influence of Haze genetics. Its taste and aroma carry a strong citrus note that is entangled with tones of spicy pepper and pungent diesel fuel. Its complex terpene profile and heavy resin production make Super Lemon OG an excellent choice for producing top-notch concentrates, like the two extracts that took home prizes at the 2014 High Times’ Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam. ” Super Lemon OG is also known as Super Lemon Kush.
According to the OCS website, ” FIGR No. 14, also known as SL Kush, is an indica-dominant hybrid that has various rich green hues peppered with beautiful orange hairs. It exudes a strong smell that uniquely blends hints of cheese with strong sweet floral overtones. This heavy Indica hybrid grows in small dense buds that will delight your taste buds. ”
Another winner from FIGR
With THC of 22.4%, this Super Lemon Kush hits hard. The effect is immediate and grows quickly even before the inhalation session ends. Interestingly, the Indica warm embrace of bliss is the first effect. But by the 10 to 15 minute mark, the sativa genetic kicks in. Cerebral activity picks up along with energy. The “high” becomes more vibrant and moderately euphoric.
Half an hour after the start of the session, FIGR No. 14 hits its stride. There’s a steady flow of energy and strong mental stimulation making the hour fly by. In the second hour, strong mental stimulation slowly ebbs away and the body relaxation effects becomes more prominent as the “high” progress. A mental haze emerges as we enter the second hour increasing in strength. By the third hour, our energy level drops towards lethargic. We think this is the heavy Indica of FIGR’s description. If you can last past three hours without falling asleep, you should slowly regain energy and normalcy.
Activity pairing would have to consider the end points because at the end of the high you can feel lethargic. This strain is an evening strain much like all the Indica hybrids. Indica hybrids typically start with a sparkly and energetic high but the end is typically a hard landing into the pillows. So, any activity that has an end point into the pillows will work perfectly.
Conclusion
FIGR No. 14 (Super Lemon Kush) by FIGR
If you like RIFF’s DT81, Super Lemon Haze, this is a sister strain, Super Lemon Kush. While the Haze version was super energetic, this Kush relative provides a more relaxed experience. This was our first introduction to Super Lemon Kush.
THC: 22.4%
Quality: 8.0
Intensity: 8.1
Duration: 8.2
Total: 8.1
Cost: $46.65 for 3.5 grams
The one negative about FIGR No. 14 is the cost. This is not priced for volume. We bought this for review and it was worth the experience. Would we buy this again? No, because there are so many good alternatives at lower cost. FIGR No. 17, Wappa, is a better deal at $39.75 for 3.5 grams and hits even harder earning a 9.93 rating.
On an investment note, it is hilarious to report there is an ongoing legal action between FIGR and RIFF over logo design. FIGR believes RIFF design is too similar. We have to say they are both really well done. This FIGR and RIFF’s urinal war is a sign of things to come. RIFF is becoming the heavyweight in this new industry. RIFF dominates all the categories they play in, low, middle and high end of the market. FIGR is a relatively new entrant with some nuclear weapons. We have to admit that we are very excited on the ensuing battle for supremacy and the effects it will generate. More importantly, we are happy Aphria, parent of RIFF, secured a $100 million from a secret admirer. Congratulations! Aphria.
