Strain Integrity
According to Leafly. ” UK Cheese is a popular strain known for its potent, balanced effects and signature musty cheese smell. The flavor is also unique with undertones of berry and spicy cheese (you may have to taste it to find out). This strain is thought to be a specific phenotype of Skunk #1 that was originally cultivated in the early 1990s by a UK collective group known as “Exodus”; as a result, this strain is also known as Exodus Cheese. UK Cheese became popular for its energetic, euphoric head effects combined with an impressive pain relief potential, making it spread quickly beyond the borders of its British home. Most consumers experience alert effects that allow for mental relaxation without sedation, but it may hasten bedtime for some. Effects also tend to be felt in the head first, then spread throughout the body, creating muscle relaxation and some tinglyness. UK Cheese’s flowers are dense and light green with a coat of orange hairs. ”
From Wikileaf on Balmoral, ” Because this blend is perfectly down the middle, users can expect a strong, sativa-forward focus and an uptick in mood that rounds out nicely with an intense body relaxation. After just one hit you’ll feel a burst of joy and creativity that may not get you very far, as the soothing body high will alleviate most of your motivation. Before the high drops you off into a deep sleep, pair your cheesy goodness with a bitter beer or dark chocolate treat.Because this blend is perfectly down the middle, users can expect a strong, sativa-forward focus and an uptick in mood that rounds out nicely with an intense body relaxation. From the OCS website, ” Balmoral from Tweed is a variety of UK Cheese that’s grown in a greenhouse in Smiths Falls, Ontario. Machine-trimmed and hand-groomed, the forest green dried flower with orange pistils is available in 3.5 g, 7 g, 15 g and 30 g. The THC-dominant hybrid species has a very strong THC potency, and its beta-caryophyllene and humulene terpenes produce a spicy aroma of hops and cloves. ”
Underappreciated?
Right or wrong, Tweed has a bad reputation in the cannabis community. No one likes the “Big Guy” in town. Unsuspectingly, we bought Van Der Pop and found that they were own by Canopy/Tweed. We are reviewing Balmoral because this is UK Cheese, just like Cloudburst by Van Der Pop.
Balmoral starts quickly and hijacks your mind before you know it half an hour is gone. This is strong stuff as keeping on track with our work was very difficult. We literally felt hijacked and no longer in control. Time and space collapse into a ball and the ball rolls around to wherever it wants is how we felt for the first half hour. Yes, time dilation and short term memory collapse is complete under the Balmoral influence. It’s a complete obliteration of us, which is very nice. Thumbs up!
Our test amount was 0.26 grams. Balmoral cost $35.75 for 3.5 grams exactly the same price as Cloudburst from Van Der Pop. Balmoral’s THC was 21.0% compared to 16.5% for Cloudburst. The Balmoral hits a lot harder. Going well past the two hour mark easily, Balmoral comes to an end with grace and not a head dive into deep slumber for us. We felt relaxed, chilled and satisfied.
Activity pairing is limited because this strain can produce debilitating effects where the best of plans can go off the rails quickly. This would be perfect for a small gathering of close friends to get lost together and relax. Couch lock and anxiety attacks are all possible side effects for this 21.0% THC UK Cheese.
Conclusion
Balmoral (UK Cheese) by Tweed
There is no denying the Balmoral aka UK Cheese effects with it’s very respectable 21.0% THC. This UK Cheese has a kick. In comparison to Cloudburst from Van Der Pop, another UK Cheese strain, Balmoral delivers a similar “high” experience but with a stronger 5% more THC intensity creating an even more immersive environment. Balmoral is for Men as Cloudburst is for Women?
THC: 21.0%
Quality: 8.2
Intensity; 8.2
Duration: 8.0
Total: 8.1
Cost: $35.75 for 3.5 grams
We are surprised by Tweed’s quality, the biggest industry consolidator. Would we buy this again? A soft “Yes.” The landscape has gotten a lot more competitive and it is time for Tweed to readjust to the new pricing reality. With Aurora offering their OG Melon at $5 a gram in volume, this is “The Train” Tweed needs to jump on or they will be left behind. This Balmoral strain would be a huge winner in that landscape. Lower the price and win with this product.
On an investment note, is Canopy to big to fail? Canopy owns everything. Canopy own Storz and Bickel, manufacturer of the best vaporizer “The Volcano,” DNA Genetics , one of the most prolific Cannabis breeder, and Canopy River Ventures with their fingers deep into the craft producers. Canopy is the Investment Banker’s wet dreams. Our eyes will be on the 2020 US Election because Canopy has an option into the US, if Cannabis becomes legal at a Federal level.
