Strain Integrity
Citrique is from Lime Skunk and SFV OG Kush parentage.
According to Leafly, “ Lime Skunk, not to be confused with Lime Green Skunk, is the odoriferous offspring of DNA Genetic’s Lemon Skunk and Exotic Genetix’ Green Ribbon BX, and the latest offering from Cresco Labs. This sativa-dominant strain by Exotic Genetix boasts THC content and an unparalleled aroma of fresh limes. Its racy yet clear-headed buzz is great for consumers looking to enjoy a flavorful connoisseur-grade strain while maintaining a high level of productivity. ”
And also from Leafly, ” SFV OG by Cali Connection is a sativa-dominant hybrid that is great for patients who need strong pain relief but don’t want to be stuck on the couch. As the name indicates, this OG Kush relative originates from California’s San Fernando Valley. Although their names are barely distinguishable, SFV OG Kush is actually the Afghani-crossed child to SFV OG. Leading with aromatic notes of earthy pine and lemon, its body effects take a little longer to feel than the initial head haziness. ”
From the OCS website, ” This hand-trimmed sativa-dominant hybrid strain has a lemon and lime aroma. With notes of lemon and lime, this citrusy strain is a sativa-dominant hybrid. Citrique is THC-forward and is covered in white trichomes. ”
A new strain
Citrique is a newer strain of unknown origin. We applaud Namaste for bringing interesting strains to market. Packaged on February 6, 2020, the flowers were very fragrantful with strong lemon citrus scent. It cost $34.20 for 3.5 grams with 16.0 THC.
This is a creeper, which is becoming a rarity as most strains take off like rocket ships. The “high” starts around the 15 minute mark with physical sensation emerging around our brains to signal entry into an alternate reality. At that point, a light buzzing of energy envelopes our bodies as our minds elevate. There’s a calming blissful body feel. Almost half an hour into the session, our minds entered the creativity room. It took a 30 minutes to be fully engaged. Once we entered the zone, we felt a smooth flow of energy and mental stimulation in a blissful state.
Activity pairing may include physically demanding and socially challenging environments. Hybrid sativas provide good energy to be mobile, creative mental massage for entertainment and an optimistic view of the world. What can you do with that? Lots.
The “high” comes to an end about two hours after the session started. The last half hour had a hazier mental state and a relaxed body. There were minimal feeling of tiredness, which is good. Given the recent steady flow of quality products reviewed, we believe we may be getting spoiled and becoming more demanding. At the end of Citrique, we were left with wanting more.
Conclusion
Citrique by Namaste (Zenabis)
We are neither “Wowed” nor “Disappointed” with Citrique from Namaste. We definitely got a good buzz but …. It doesn’t stand out. We are, however, impressed with Namaste growing skills and we will be reviewing more Namaste products.
THC: 16.0%
Quality: 7.7
Intensity: 7.6
Duration: 7.8
Total: 7.7
Cost: $34.20 for 3.5 grams
Would we buy this again? Probably not because there are so many incredible strains in the hybrid sativa genre. But, we are glad we tried Citrique by Namaste. We would recommend trying this strain if you are a fan of cannabis. If anything, trying new strains by new producer always broaden our view and experience and that is what life is all about for us.
On an investment note, Namaste is a brand of Zenabis. Zenabis announced 2019 consolidated net revenues of $66.5 million for an 850% over 2018 $7 million in revenues. Losses from operations were $63 million. Clearly some navel gazing is required. Namaste have an interesting medical referral business, which we used to register with Whistler Medical Cannabis Corp. and Broken Coast for our cannabis scripts. Namaste has significantly broaden their product offerings in Ontario. We will be doing more Namaste reviews.
