Strain Integrity

According to Leafly, ” Blue Dream, a sativa-dominant hybrid originating in California, has achieved legendary status among West Coast strains. Crossing Blueberry with Haze, Blue Dream balances full-body relaxation with gentle cerebral invigoration. Novice and veteran consumers alike enjoy the level effects of Blue Dream, which ease you gently into a calm euphoria.

With a sweet berry aroma redolent of its Blueberry parent, Blue Dream delivers swift symptom relief without heavy sedative effects. This makes Blue Dream a popular daytime medicine for patients treating pain, depression, nausea, and other ailments requiring a high THC strain.

From Simply Bare on BC Organic Blue Dream, ” Our version of this sativa-dominant strain is organic certified. Her exceptionally aromatic flower gives off a blueberry aroma with a warm and peppery terpene profile. Hand-harvested and cold cured, these buds were carefully selected, trimmed and placed in a recyclable glass jar, sealed for freshness. Like any good dream, she’s both sweet and spicy.

Something special in an old strain

In our review of Tantalus Lab’s Blue Dream, we concluded that “Consumers may prefer the newer strain effects and leave the older strains on the shelf no matter how good it is.”  Every so often life teaches us a lesson.  BC Organic Blue Dream by Simply Bare packaged on Jan 8, 2020, with 22.03% THC with an unbelievable scent is something special from an old strain.

The “high” is strong.  This is not like any Blue Dream we have tried in the past.  With in 5 minutes after the start, we lost control of time and memory.  There is great clarity and acceleration of mind and body.  Uplift gave us a light electrifying sense of self.  And, there is cerebral extravaganza.  Blue Dream for us has been a chilled relaxed bliss with some cerebral entertainment.  This Blue Dream is electrifying, which means possible anxiety attacks with large doses.  And, this is what we like best about it … the potency … da jet fuel.

In our new review protocol to amp up the volume, we tested 0.35 grams in a walk about and shopping review.  We ended up walking for an hour before getting to our store.  We had a hard time remembering our mission and kept walking past our destination, which turned out to be still closed.  The take away is this Blue Dream is really strong and scales very well, which means the more you consume the more destroyed you get.  Go crazy and have fun.

Activity pairing is dosage dependent.  BC Organic Blue Dream by Simply Bare is best for social gatherings because there is a strong vibrant energy and cerebral stimulation for engaging conversations.  This is also a weaponizable strain under lower doses because there is strong energy for production coupled with clarity and focus.  This is a malleable strain for any occasion.

Conclusion

There is a new kid in town and the name is Simply Bare.  Organic is their game.  There is something special in the “living soil” growing technique.  WMMC, TGOD and Simply Bare are using living soil philosophy and their flowers are something special.  The flowers from these cultivars give complete end to end satisfaction.  BC Organic Blue Dream by Simply Bare is a recommended strain to try.

THC:  22.03%

Quality: 8.5

Intensity: 8.4

Duration: 8.0

Total: 8.3

Cost: $55.95 for 3.5 grams

The only complaint would be the cost.  Simply Bare’s parent Rubicon Organics aims to achieve cultivation cost of $0.50 a gram and a $5 gross margin per gram.  If Simply Bare were to achieve their cost target and maintain the $5 a gram gross margin, it is possible we may see lower prices in the $9 to $12 range, which is where sustainable premium pricing is today.  Using WMMC $22 a gram as justification there is a big ultra premium market is highly misleading.   WMMC real cost is their med prices which is around $12 to $14 a gram, not $22 a gram.

On an investment note, there are financing everywhere with Rubicon, Hexo and TerrAscend.  Most interesting is Rubicon non-brokered private placement which saved Rubicon at least $500,000 in fees and management participated for 20% of the financing.  What is interesting is the potential of PIPE, Private Investments in Public Equities, which is what Rubicon did.  When we managed $75 million of venture capital for a Life Insurance company, PIPE generated 22% returns per year for us over 10 years.  Limited Partnerships like Helix Investments or Accel Partners netted us about 8% per year over 10 years.  Seed investment we lost 80% of our investment.  PIPEs allowed us to negotiate for favourable terms with liquidity while the issuer gain a sophisticated investor and business partner for the long term.  It was a win win scenario.  Good job! Rubicon on that private placement.
