Strain Integrity

According to Leafly, ” First bred by Rare Dankness, Ghost Train Haze is a sativa cross of Ghost OG and Neville’s Wreck. Unlike typical sativas, Ghost Train Haze grows dense buds blanketed in white, crystal-capped trichomes. With a sour citrus and floral aroma, Ghost Train Haze delivers a potent dose of THC to knock out pain, depression, and appetite loss, but patients prone to anxiety should steer clear of this heavy-hitter. Low doses are conducive to concentration and creativity, but you may notice some cerebral haziness as you smoke more.

From the OCS website, ” Meridian by Up Cannabis is a sativa strain with very high THC levels and an aroma of citrus and pine. This high-THC strain from Up is grown indoors at Centuries Ahead Studio. Its big, fluffy, bright green buds are rich with trichomes and light orange and golden hairs. Terpenes like Terpinolene (also found in parsnip), Limonene (lemon) and Beta Pinene (nutmeg) create Meridian’s unique bitter-meets-sour aroma.  ”

A deal?

A 35% price drop from $46.45 to $29.96 for 3.5 grams was a deal we could not resist.  Packaged on September 27, 2019, Meridian aka Ghost Train Haze by Up have 18.5% THC with faint hints of citrus and pepper.  It has a very classical sativa loose bud structure.  The total weight came in at 3.30 grams.  We don’t usually check the weight and now we will in future reviews.  It looked underwieght, which is why we did it.

This is an express train “high” leaving reality rapidly into an exhilarating bright colourful world of Ghost Train Haze.  Ghost Train Haze was one of our first review and this strain is impressive.  Within ten minutes after the session start, we were fully lifted to a higher energy level of awareness.  Going for a run, or a long walk, becomes very appealing as a way of dissipating the energy build up.  Creative forces emerge as time warping kicks in to deliver us completely to the Promiseland.  With a begrudging smile, we have to say this is pretty good.  This is a Deal!

While this a two hour experience, the initial decline was jarringly noticeable.  About 45 minutes after inhalation, the decline was marked by a sudden drop in intensity.   The “high” transitioned to a more functional and less energetic mode.  Compared to the first hour, there is a bit of body relaxation and a bit of haziness in the second hour.

Activity pairing will have to include all very active physical activities.  The energy from Meridian aka Ghost Train Haze is lively and it would be great for partying, dancing and general high kinetic social situations.

On an investment note, we are excited to see Hexo’s Hash launch a huge success selling out on the OCS, Canada’s largest retail market.  Hexo is a pricing leader in the most competitive cannabis segment, the $5 to $7 a gram market, the high volume market.  While Hexo, Aurora and Aphria are the majors dropping prices and increasing revenues, Canopy noticeably absent from price reduction had a Q3 28% revenue decline in the Canadian recreational market.  Today, June 8th, 2020, Hexo is up as much as 42% in one day!  NICE!
