Strain Integrity
According to Leafly, “Blue Dream, a sativa-dominant hybrid originating in California, has achieved legendary status among West Coast strains. Crossing Blueberry with Haze, Blue Dream balances full-body relaxation with gentle cerebral invigoration. Novice and veteran consumers alike enjoy the level effects of Blue Dream, which ease you gently into a calm euphoria.
With a sweet berry aroma redolent of its Blueberry parent, Blue Dream delivers swift symptom relief without heavy sedative effects. This makes Blue Dream a popular daytime medicine for patients treating pain, depression, nausea, and other ailments requiring a high THC strain. ”
From the OCS website, ” This sweet sativa is known for its herbal, pine and peppery aromas that come from the cultivars’ rich terpene profile. Spinach™ products are not your average greens! Spinach has High Expectations™ for their Farm-to-Bowl™ products, and safety testing is one of the few things they take seriously. This sweet sativa is known for its herbal, pine and peppery aromas that come from the cultivars’ terpene profile rich in pinene, myrcene and caryophyllene. ”
Classic Blue Dream
We believe Cronos brands Spinach and Cove have some of the better but pricest cannabis in the market. Spinach, however, is Cronos non-premium offering more affordable cannabis. Blue Dream by Spinach cost $32.95 for 3.5 grams with 20.9% THC packaged on February 26, 2020, with a very unmemorable scent.
The “high” comes on slowly for about ten minutes and than the “high” tide comes in over our heads. After inhalation, we remembered thinking “This is nice calming energy with clearer thoughts.” We got coffee headed into the recording room and lost all sense of purpose and directions as time dilations and memory corruption exploded in our brains. Euphoric waves gently engulf us as creativity sparkles in our minds. The second hour was a lighter version of the first hour as the time passed with happy dispositions. After two hours, we felt relaxed without being tired.
We put Simply Bare’s Blue Dream to the test again to compare. Simply Bare’s Blue Dream cost $55.95 for 3.5 grams, or $447.60 an ounce, is priced for royalty. For that price, we get a Blue Dream with a more intense “high” and a scent that is deliciously fruity with a smooth taste. Living soil used by Simply Bare is a terrifying growing technique used only by a handful of growers, all alumni of WMMC. But, Spinach delivers a cheaper and solid rendition of Blue Dream that should not disappoint.
Activity pairing we believe are best for calmness and relaxation orientation. While we could weaponize Blue Dream for production/work, the relax tempo of the “high” is more suitable for relaxation.
Conclusion
Blue Dream by Spinach (Cronos)
The Canadian legal cannabis landscape is improving in quality, variety and pricing. Spinach’s Blue Dream is another well rendered classic strain delivering a calm relaxing and dreamy world. For Blue Dream fans, we “highly” recommend trying Spinach’s Blue Dream.
THC: 20.9%
Quality: 8.0
Intensity: 8.1
Duration: 8.0
Total: 8.0
Cost: $32.95 for 3.5 grams
Would we buy this again? Yes, we would buy 7 grams, or higher. This Blue Dream by Spinach is potent and delivers what is expected.
On an investment note, this is another good grower bad business story. Why do we get the feeling Cronos checked out after Altria’s investment? For the quality of cannabis produced, which is great, revenues have been elusive. Something is just not right … but, the weed is great.
