Strain Integrity
From the OCS website, ” Charlees is an indica-dominant cross of Chemdawg and Amherst Super Skunk which is greenhouse-grown in Niagara, Ont., and then machine-trimmed and hand-groomed to maintain the quality of its trichomes. This strain has a soft citrus smell with overtones of diesel thanks to its terpene profile composed mainly of myrcene, beta-caryophyllene, limonene and linalool. ”
According to Leafly, ” Chemdog has developed quite the name for itself over the years. Between its mysterious origin, ambiguous genetics, and the plethora of successful crosses the strain has produced, Chemdog has practically secured itself a permanent place in the cannabis hall of fame. The original source of powerhouse strains like Sour Diesel and OG Kush, Chemdog is known for its distinct, diesel-like aroma. Pungent and sharp, you’ll be able to smell this strain from a mile away.
Cannabis newbies be warned: Chemdog tends to be very potent. Consumers can expect to have a cerebral experience, coupled with a strong heavy-bodied feeling. ”
And Amherst Super Skunk from Super Skunk, ” A predominantly indica variety, Super Skunk takes its robust flowers from its parent strain Skunk #1. By backcrossing the legendary Skunk with Afghani genetics, Sensi Seeds created a strain with dense, thick buds that are known to be extremely pungent with a surprisingly sweet taste. This strain produces a bold relaxing effect over the body and is a great answer for increased stress and body pains. ”
Redecan In-house strain
Charlees is an Indica in-house proprietary strain by Redecan. Packaged on June 5, 2020, with 18.95% THC, Charlees cost $46.40 for 7 grams have a strong burnt gassy rubber piney chemical scented goodness. Our test is the usual 0.26 grams.
The “high” is a strong intense heavy “Indica.” Immediately after inhalation, we lost track of time and mission objectives. By the half hour mark, it felt like we are under six feet of water as the air arounds us muffled our sense of sound. We were deeply couch locked into a quiet calm euphoric submersion tank.
The first hour flew by in a blink of an eye. We realized we got to do the recording session again as we got lost the first half hour. Charlees “high” is intense but limited to a couple of key expressions like euphoria and cerebral stimulation. Nothing really stood out but than again we could not remember much of the hour. Hrm … is this a good thing? Sometimes, that is just the perfect thing.
This is our second session at recording the first 20 minutes and we noted the “high” starts with a strong growing sense of disorientation. Even in the inhalation session, we could feel ourselves losing control of time and reality. In 6 minutes, we were overwhelmed by time dilation and deep memory corruption. There is a headedness “high” feel in our intense disorientation. If there ever was a Donkey kick to the head, this may be it. Mission accomplished! We have done the first 20 minutes of recording. This was what happened to us yesterday, which derailed out recording session.
Activity pairing is best for evenings for self meditation and rejuvenation. This is a healing strain that washes away da stress.

Would we buy this again? Yes, we would. Using car analogy, this is a Volkswagen that gets you from Point A to Point B. You can also pay more for a better ride with a Rolls Royce, a Broken Coast’s Quadra, to get from Point A to Point B. It is a question of how much money you have to burn. We like taking different cars for different occasions. After a few trips on a Volkswagen, a Roll Royce can be a real treat. Enjoy the different cars.
On an investment note, some of the best business we have seen were private companies with no outside investors. There is a clarity of purpose when people are spending their own money. Redecan appears to be one of the more successful LP with a big Brand and they are private. Is there a take away here that can help the troubled public LPs? Can money burn a hole in your pocket? Just take a look at Canopy and Cronos.
