Trick or treat?
Blue Dream is appearing everywhere in Canada’s legal market and this strain by Aurora has been available since Day 1 and we are finally trying it with great trepidation. Packaged on November 5, 2019, with 18.0 THC, Blue Dream by Aurora cost $28.95 after a 15% price drop. Trick or treat?
The “high” starts slowly with minor mood change after inhalation. For the first ten minutes, we could feel an increasing daze effect and body relaxation. We could feel the calming effects expected from Blue Dream emerging concurrently with stronger cerebral stimulation. Yep, this is a classic Blue Dream experience. At the 15 minute mark, the magic carpet arrives and whisks us off to Dreamville.
In Dreamville, it is hard to be upset about anything. While we know this is not the best place on earth, it sure feels like it when we are here. What about Ruxtonville? or Denmanville? For now, Blue Dream makes us forget about the other strains. Dreamville is a fine place to be. One hour after inhalation, the peak intensity has subsided leaving us in a calm relaxed dreamy euphoric state. Ninety minutes into the session, we started to feel a bit tired and maybe even “Yawn.” There is some lethargicness at the end.
In real life trials doing our shopping review protocol, the effects are more modest especially in bright sunlight. Blue Dream by Aurora is a heavier version of Blue Dream where we felt a stronger body sedation. We would not recommend physically demanding activities with Blue Dream by Aurora.
Activity pairing can range from day to evenings. This particular Blue Dream by Aurora, however, have a more lethargic ending for us, which means more evenings use.
Conclusion
Blue Dream by Aurora
Blue Dream by Aurora is a treat. While the taste was unremarkable, the Blue Dream effects were on point delivered with conviction. Blue Dream is not an old tired strain but making a comeback with these renditions. This Blue Dream by Aurora after the price drop is fairly priced with decent effects.
THC: 18.0%
Quality: 7.8
Intensity: 7.8
Duration: 8.0
Total: 7.9
Cost: $28.95 for 3.5 grams
Would we buy this again? Yes, we would consider buying the 7 grams for $53.85, which is less than $220 an ounce. But, there are so many other Blue Dreams to choose from and there is more to try. Reminiscing the Blue Dreams we have already tried the Simply Bare’s Blue Dream stood out. But for half the price, this Blue Dream by Aurora works too.
On an investment note, it takes time to get into a production flow. After almost two years of legal cannabis, Licensed Producers are hitting their strides in production and distribution lines have tighten to deliver freshly harvested products to market within weeks (something Aurora and Canopy still need to work on). In general, we have to say life is good and getting better for Legal Cannabis in Canada.
