Make Bob Marley proud?

For Marley Natural, Lamb’s Bread, a Jamaican landrace classic, a strain Bob Marley himself might have consumed and liked may have been a better choice for Bob Marley fans.  But we have Marley Green aka Blue Dream with 21.2% THC packaged on March 4, 2020, costing $38.95 for 3.5 grams by Marley Natural, a collaboration of Marley’s Estate with Privateer Holdings.  Marley Natural is licensed as a Brand to High Park Company, an operating subsidiary of Tilray.  Enuff said … to the review.

The “high” starts with a light change to our perception after inhalation.  Over the first ten minutes, a growing sense of excitement and mind expansion with sedative overtones to create a pleasant lift.  The effect intensity increase significantly between the 7 and 10 minute mark.  Time dilation slows time to a crawl as the creative fireworks begin … another classic Blue Dream with a warm rejuvenating embrace.

Marley Green is a lighter less sedative Blue Dream rendition than Aurora’s Blue Dream.  We are actually enjoying this more energetic vibrant Blue Dream.  Half an hour into the session, our body “high” is a pleasant calm relaxed uplifting feeling.  Marley Green is a cleaner mental “high” with less haze.  Marley Green is closer to Tantalus Lab’s Blue Dream.  Then, there’s Simply’s Bare Organic Blue Dream grown in a living soil ecosystem to produce divine cultivar.   All these Blue Dream delivers similar effects but with slightly different emphasis.

Activity pairing for Marley Green may include a broad range of daytime and evening activities.  The effects of Marley Green aka Blue Dream are functional but still very enjoyable.  Walking, shopping and socializing are all very enjoyable under the influence indicating the decent energy provided.  There is a little bit of lethargy at the end but nothing overwhelming for us.

Marley Green (Blue Dream) by Marley Natural (Tilray)

This is the first Marley Natural flower product.  Grown by High Park, an underperforming operating subsidiary of Tilray, this Blue Dream aka Marley Green, however, is one of the better product from High Park.  If you are a Blue Dream fan with money and haven’t tried this Blue Dream from Marley Natural, sure give this a go.

Would we buy this again? No. We would recommend Tantalus Labs Blue Dream for a cheaper and similar effect.  Our recommendation to Marley’s Estate is to bring Jamaican herbs to Canada.  There are Lamb’s Bread and King’s Bread along with a number of new Jamaican genetics like Jamaican Pearl and Marley’s Collie to name a few.  We would lineup to buy these strains from Marley Natural.

On an investment note, this is a great example of pure brand marketing 101 without substance.  How does Blue Dream relate to Bob Marley?  And, Tilray is the poster child for what great minds can really do?  All roads here lead to Privateer Holdings and Founders Fund, the capital source.   And here is their exit in a lockup agreement with Privateer shareholders over the next 2 years.  Good luck.
