Note:  We believe Sativa is Sundial’s Lemon Riot aka Raskal OG but the scent, bud structure and “high” experience are different.  We know the same strain under different grow environments produce dramatically different effects (TGOD’s Chocolope review).

Volume with quality?

Sativa by Grasslands is a new bulk cannabis offering strain.  Packaged on May 4, 2020, Sativa cost $53.95 for 7 grams with 16.4% THC and a strong spicy piney and earthy scent, which is nothing like Sundial’s Lemon Riot.  Our test amount was 0.26 gram.

This ‘high” is one that walks up to you and says “How the hell are you?”  It makes its presence known by being forceful.  Ten minutes disappears and we feel body and mind acceleration.  The highthen sense came with a bit of mental buzzing.   Feel like going for a run?   There’s optimism in the air. Welcome to Sativaville!   We can hear the macarena dance music getting louder.

Out of curiosity we amped up the volume to 0.40 grams.  Unfortunately, this strain does not scale very well.  While we felt an increase in intensity and greater dysfunctionality, it was minimal.  The end point at 0.40 grams was also more tiring at the end.  We would stick to our original dosage of 0.26 grams.  In comparison to Sundial’s Lemon Riot, rumoured to be the underlying strain, this Sativa is more forceful with a hazier feel.  Sundial’s Lemon Riot aka Raskal OG is a super clear headed high.

Activity pairing can include day and night time events.  The strong energy and exuberance flow from this strain makes this a great social and party strain.  We can also weaponize this strain for productive work.

Sativa by Grasslands (Sundial)

The Canadian legal cannabis market is getting flooded with bulk cannabis offerings.  Grasslands is a Sundial bulk offering brand and Sativa comes in 7 grams and 15 grams.  Sativa by Grasslands is a decent sativa strain delivering a forceful vibrant experience.  It is a worthy sample.

Would we buy this again?  What to buy is now a very tough decision with a broad range of volume and quality options from a broad range of producers.  If we bought this again, we know we would not be disappointed.

On an investment note fresh off the debt restructuring, Sundial is launching a series of product initiatives on a path to profitability.  Grasslands is one of those initiatives.  In addition, Sundial has also slashed prices bring their premium to under $10 a gram, the volume sales price points.  We can sense the “Will” to succeed in Sundial.  We are big fans of Sundial.
