Note:  Rumour has it Sativa by Twd. is Candyland.  We have recently reviewed Houndstooth, which is Candyland.  This does look and smell like Houndstooth.

Is this Candyland?

Sativa by Twd. is a low cost Canopy brand packaged on November 25, 2019, with 21.0% THC had an earthy spicy peppery with floral hints for $21.50 for 3.5 grams.  Rumour has it this maybe Candyland, one of our favourite strains.

The “high” starts about halfway through our inhalation session.  Method of inhalation is a joint so the disorientation begins half way into the joint, which is fast.  There is a growing hazy euphoria and energy.  There are both body and mental effects reflecting both indica and sativa roots.  Time feels like it is slowing down as going from 8 minutes to 10 minutes seem to take an eternity.  Creative arrives in its full splendor at the ten minute mark.   Are we hopping on a magic carpet?  We are … we are ….

A strange thing happened after 10 minutes, time sped up.  We blinked and we lost 5 minutes.  There is a heaviness weighting on us, a cloak of blissfulness.  At the 20 minute mark, we were completely relaxed and chilled with blossoming creativity.  One hour into the session and there is little diminishment in the intensity.  It’s like the “Energizer” bunny.  The “high” last almost two and a  half to three hours with lingering relaxed body sedation.

Activity pairing for this strain is best for socializing without physical demands.  There is body sedation that made us feel lethargic.  The vibrant euphoria with outward bound optimism in a relaxed body makes for a pleasant social presence.

Conclusion

Sativa by Twd. (Canopy)

If this is Candyland, it is a slightly heavier version compared to Houndstooth, which is more uplifting.  Cerebral bliss with heavier body sedation are key takeaways from Sativa by Twd.  We do not believe this is a pure Sativa given the strong body effects.  For the money and effect, Sativa by Twd. is a winner for Sativa fans.

Would we buy this again?  Yes, we would buy the 7 grams, or 15 grams option.   The decision on what to buy is now a very difficult decision.  In this value price range, we have Re-Up, Redecan, Original Stash, Daily Special, Tantalus Labs, Good Supply, Hexo and Grasslands to name a few of our favourites low cost high effect brands.  Now we have Twd.!

On an investment note, these are interesting times for legal cannabis.  The quality, volume and pricing of legal cannabis, in our humble opinion, is the best we have ever had.  The grey market was NEVER this vibrant.  We have never had $120 an ounce Cannabis like what we have today.  What worry us is if this is sustainable?  Are these death throes pricing?
