Strain Integrity

According to Leafly, ” Chemdog has developed quite the name for itself over the years. Between its mysterious origin, ambiguous genetics, and the plethora of successful crosses the strain has produced, Chemdog has practically secured itself a permanent place in the cannabis hall of fame. The original source of powerhouse strains like Sour Diesel and OG Kush, Chemdog is known for its distinct, diesel-like aroma. Pungent and sharp, you’ll be able to smell this strain from a mile away.

Cannabis newbies be warned: Chemdog tends to be very potent. Consumers can expect to have a cerebral experience, coupled with a strong heavy-bodied feeling.

From the OCS website, ” Chemdawg is a hybrid with a strong bark. There’s a saying about old dawgs and new tricks and a serious lack of learning. Here’s the thing, though: sometimes the old tricks are really, really great. What’s with this sudden obsession with new tricks, anyway? Get over it. Chemdog is a hybrid with a strong bark (THC up to 20%) and, sure, he’s like a billion dawg years old and definitely stinks, but the important thing to remember is that Chemdawg is a very good boy. Palmetto is weed for people who like weed, grown in the heartland of Alberta so you’re always good to go.

A classic genetic

Chemdawg by Palmetto packaged on June 17, 2020, cost $31.96 for 3.5 grams smelling fragrantly exotic.  Palmetto is a Premium Sundial brand.  Our test amount was 0.26 grams.

The “high” starts immediately after the session ends with a growing sense of increasing speed in perception and thoughts.  Light accelerating euphoria races through our minds as a creeping relaxing feeling slowly sedate our bodies.  Intense time dilation growing stronger over the first 15 minutes can be debilitating.  The bottom line is we are having a great time with Chemdawg from Palmetto.

This Chemdawg’s “high” is very similar to Emerald’s Chemdog.  There is an electric feel to the “high.”  The first half hour of Chemdawg was a tour du force in a mind bending exercise with a Mind of its own.   It can be a bit gnarly with larger doses.  Sour Diesel, the child of Chemdawg and Super Skunk, is a calmer clearer creative happier version.  After 30 minutes of forceful surrealness, we enter into a more dreamy and calmer state of mind … whew.

Activity pairing is best for the daytime slot.  This strain under the right dosing can be used as an antidepressant, a coffee replacement, for jump starting the creative synapses and socializing.  This Chemdawg is not recommended before bedtime.

Conclusion

Chemdawg by Palmetto (Sundial)

With this review, we learned that a Quality “high” gave us the same Enjoyment regardless of strain, or price.  Chemdawg’s peak “high” in the first half hour’s  Enjoyment is almost the same as Msiku’s White Wedding “high,” which is almost twice as expensive.  Off course, White Wedding was better but we were not really complaining under the peak influence of Chemdawg either.  The takeaway is there is real Enjoyment at much lower price points.  OK.  Chemdawg by Palmetto is worth trying.

THC:  17.8%

Quality:  8.2

Intensity:  8.0

Duration: 8.0

Cost:  $31.96 for 3.5 grams

Would we buy this again?  Given Emerald’s Chemdog was a couple of dollars cheaper and hits a bit harder, the price would have to be lower.  It’s noteworthy, however, that Emerald will not be selling Chemdog much longer.  We would buy Chemdawg by Palmetto with larger volume offerings and lower pricing.

On an investment note, in capital intensive industry, return of capital and equity require a longer runway.  The cannabis industry is a capital intensive business requiring substantial upfront capital before revenue generation.  TerrAscend just announced some spectecular Q2/2020 quarterly results.  Grats! to young Jason Ackerman confirmed as TerrAscend permanent CEO.  After two years, we are seeing a healthier cannabis industry emerging.
