Strain Integrity

According to Leafly, ” Named after the methods of mental manipulation employed by the CIA’s Project MKUltra, this indica-dominant strain stands apart due to its powerful cerebral effects. A cross of OG Kush and indica G13, this strain is bred by T.H. Seeds and won 1st place Indica at the High Times Cannabis Cup in 2003 and 2nd place in 2004. Indoor growing is facilitated by the plant’s short stature, and its above average yield delivers particularly sticky, dense, pungent flowers. MK Ultra is renowned for its euphoric effects that are fast-acting and best for when strong medication is desired. It might be best for a day when not getting off the couch would be fine.

From the OCS website, ” MKLTR will impress you with its earthy aromas. This strain truly is as electric as its amber hairs suggest.

Cheap MK Ultra

Packaged on June 30, 2020, MKLTR aka MK Ultra by Re-Up (Zenabis), cost $67.95 for 15 grams with 13% THC.  There’s a faint scent of something floral and the flowers were big nuggets.  But, we are getting some really bad vibes with the 13% THC … one of the shortfall of buying online and not knowing the THC level until it is too late.  Than again, there’s TGOD’s Chocolope 12.64% THC, which was a knockout crazy good “high” but it cost $39.45 for 3.5 grams.

The “high” starts like a Sativa with rising energy, euphoric lightness of mind and body and cerebral stimulation.  The inhalation session took ten minutes because of the higher dosing at 0.35 grams instead of 0.26 grams.  For a 13% THC, we are feeling a light MK Ultra vibe, which is a clear euphoric cerebral energy.  There is a little bit of body relaxation.

Hrm … this is a low level intensity “high.”  Half an hour into the session, we are feeling more body sedation.  Yeah, we are getting what we paid for.  We did not pay much and we did not get much.  Saying the “high” last an hour and a half would be a stretch.  For $20 more, Good Supply’s Monkey Glue is available for $86.25 for 15 grams, which is a “Ripper” strain that is at least 2X stronger.  If that few dollars is mission impossible, OK, you will get a “Buzz” with MKLTR.

Activity pairing is best for getting some dull and boring chores done.  While this strain is not delivering what we need, for beginners this might be a strain that is cheap and maybe strong enough to be enjoyed.

Conclusion

MKLTR (MK Ultra) by Re-Up (Zenabis)

We were excited to try MKLTR aka MK Ultra by Re-Up given our positive experience with Re-Up’s CTRQ aka Citrique.  Unfortunately, this strain did not resonate with us … maybe our expectations from CTRQ was for a stronger more intense effect, which was lacking given the low THC levels.  It has been a while since we experienced something disappointing.  This is really cheap and it may resonate with you better than us?  You get what you pay for with MKLTR by Re-Up.

THC:  13.0%

Quality:  6.5

Intensity: 6.0

Duration:  7.0

Total:  6.5

Cost:  $67.95 for 15 grams

Would we buy this again?  No.  This is too weak for us.  There are people who may be satisfied with the intensity and this is very cheap cannabis.

On an investment note, our reviews assume money falls from the sky, which it doesn’t.  There is a large market segment that are resource constrained where pricing is a key criteria to purchasing decisions.  Pure Sun farms have been selling a lot of low quality cheap  “Weed.”  The resource constraint silent majority have spoken?  Maybe, there is a place in the world for “Weed” like this.
