Strain Integrity

According to Leafly, ” Bred by Symbiotic Genetics, Cherry Punch is a cross between Cherry AK-47 and Purple Punch F2. By crossing their highly celebrated Purple Punch—known for creating dense colas with rich, sweet, fruity, and citrus terps—with the cherry-infused AK-47 cultivar, growers get a potent strain that’s both uplifting and flavorful. Buds come in a rich dark green color with purple specks and stark orange hairs.

On Cherry AK-47, ” Cherry AK-47 is a rare cherry-scented phenotype of AK-47. With its reddish-purple coloration and berry aroma, it’s no wonder how Cherry AK-47 got its name. This strain’s flavors are described as smooth cherry with a creamy sandalwood aftertaste. Cherry AK-47 creeps up from cerebral stimulation to complete body relaxation, providing a balance of effects. ”

And Purple Punch, ” Purple Punch is the sweet and sedating union of two indica-dominant classics. By breeding Larry OG with Granddaddy Purple, the astonishing trichome laden Purple Punch was born, smelling of grape candy, blueberry muffins, and tart Kool-Aid. The potency of this strain gives the consumer a one-two punch to the head and body, initially landing between the eyes and settling down into the limbs. Purple Punch is a delicious dessert strain that is best suited for after dinner. Its effects may help with managing nausea, stress, minor body aches, and sleeplessness.

From the OCS website, ” A potent Indica-Dominant Hybrid that is a cross between Cherry All Kush 47 and Purple Punch. This unique strain offers a musky, berry aroma with an earthy flavour and a soft and sweet berry finish.

A crafty product

This is a strain that woke up the neighbourhood with it’s almost 28% THC but we got the 23.64% version.   Packaged on July 13, 2020 (a month and a half to this review), Cherry Punch by BLKMKT cost $59.95 for 3.5 grams smells incredibly exotically medicinal and looks too good to consume.  Our test amount was 0.26 grams.

The “high” is as expected for a 23% THC strain, which is fast and furious action immediately.  Deep intensely relaxing euphoria is the name of the game for Cherry Punch.  Throw in buckets of “Joy” with a debilitating muscle relaxant we get a happily tranquilized Moose.  This Cherry Punch has a wonderful heavy tranquilized feel to the “high.”  Time speeds and slows … trapping us in the twilight zone … as half an hour pass so fast.

The intensity started to ebb at the 45 minute mark.  Finally, we are able to triangulate reality.  Dreamy floaty sedation fills the second hour of the “high” and lingering relaxation stretching well past the 3 hours mark.  We have noted that the higher the THC for Indica strain the better the effects.  For sativa, we have been destroyed with just 12% THC and 25% THC sativas are rare.  Not sure if you people noticed the same characteristics … worth paying attention?

Activity pairing are best for evening events.  Cherry Punch intense sedative effects works well at the end of a hard day to relax and just chill with some music.

Conclusion

Cherry Punch by BLKMKT

Cherry Punch by BLKMKT (GTEC) is an exhibition of pure love between the cultivator and the cultivar to produce a “Bud” of this quality.  Off course there are others like Broken Coast, WMMC, TGOD, Simply Bare, Qwest, Gage, Grail and Msuki who also produce psychedelic cannabis.  This is as good as it gets folks.  Oh yeah, they are all crazy expensive, which maybe a reflection of how crazy hard it is to produce truly psychedelic cannabis.  Treats anyone?

THC:   23.64%

Quality:  8.6

Intensity:  8.4

Duration:  8.2

Total:  8.4

Cost:  $59.95 for 3.5 grams

Would we buy this again?  Unfortunately, no.  This is novelty pricing.  We do not really recommend any cannabis priced over $15 for repeat purchase.  Redecan Cold Creek Kush with 24% THC delivers crushing euphoria for $24.95 for 3.5 grams is a good alternative.  Or, a Broken Coast Quadra for $10 cheaper at $48.00 for 3.5 grams. If you have cash to burn, pull up a couch and give this Moose tranquilizer a try.

On an investment note, we just don’t know what these little companies are doing on the public stock market?  Some are even listed on more than one stock market.  Public company advantage is raising capital for Mergers & Acquisitions just like Canopy and Curaleaf.  Private investments are typically tranched investments securing current and future financing all at once.  For a small craft grower company, being private is a better strategy.  Struggling to be profitable and carrying a heavy public company listing cost is not fun.  Good Luck.
