Strain Integrity
According to the OCS website, ” Flow Daydream (also known as Chemdog) is an indoor-grown, high-THC, indica-leaning hybrid from Calgary’s Sundial Growers, with Nepales and Thai Landrace lineage, a pungent, tangy diesel smell, and a terpene profile that includes myrcene, caryophyllene, alpha pinene, humulene and beta Pinene. ”
According to Leafly, ” Chemdog has developed quite the name for itself over the years. Between its mysterious origin, ambiguous genetics, and the plethora of successful crosses the strain has produced, Chemdog has practically secured itself a permanent place in the cannabis hall of fame. The original source of powerhouse strains like Sour Diesel and OG Kush, Chemdog is known for its distinct, diesel-like aroma. Pungent and sharp, you’ll be able to smell this strain from a mile away.
Cannabis newbies be warned: Chemdog tends to be very potent. Consumers can expect to have a cerebral experience, coupled with a strong heavy-bodied feeling. ”
Sundial’s Chemdawg
Sundial’s Daydream price drop triggered this review. In addition, we have recently reviewed two Chemdawg strains serve well as a backdrop to the Chemdawg world. Packaged on May 4th, 2020, three and a half months before our purchase, Daydream cost $32.95 for 3.5 grams with 20.4% THC and very fragantfull.
The “high” starts slowly as we barely noticed any effects after the inhalation session ends. At the 10 minute mark, we begin to feel the intensity building with increasing euphoria and cerebral ignition. Hrm … this is a Creeper. Approaching the 15 minute mark, we are finally taking off. Happiness emerges with relief. Once we are up, it feels good. This is a sunny world radiating happiness with a lightness of heart.
This Chemdawg rendition is very different than Emerald’s Chemdog and Sundial’s Palmetto’s Chemdawg. Flow Daydream is more like WWMC Chocolope with a slow lighter vibrant sunny happy optimism, which is perfect for that first slot of the day. This is not as intense but it makes up with copious amount of happiness. Daydream is a very good name for this rendition of Chemdawg.
A full 30 minutes to maximum effects for Daydream. At the peak, our minds are filled with optimism, happiness and creative goodness arming us with the tools to succeed in this jungle we call Life. In the second hour, there is very little lethargicness compared to the other two Chemdawg renditions.
Activity pairing is best as the first slot of the day with a cup of coffee or tea. The intensity is perfect for getting things done with a smile on the face.
Conclusion
Flow Daydream (Chemdawg) by Sundial
Surprise would be an understatement with Flow Daydream aka Chemdawg. We were expecting something similar to Emerald or Palmetto intense cerebral firestorm “highs.” Flow Daydream aka Chemdawg by Sundial is not as intense but more joyful. The “high” is more in the fine tradition of a WMMC Chocolope or a Broken Coast’s Moresby occupying the first slot of the day position.
THC: 20.4%
Quality: 8.1
Intensity: 8.0
Duration: 8.0
Total: 8.0
Cost: $32.95 for 3.5 grams
Would we buy this again? Yes. This is a strain that serves a very specific purpose and can disappoint for those looking for a “ripping” situation. The “high” does not have an intense drooling end point. Flow Daydream, however, brings a clear optimistic creative and vibrant joy to the world as the start to a new day. For us, this is a very special class of cannabis specifically to start the day.
On an investment note, the OCS Price Drop webpages is growing. This lowest value cannabis segment is crowded with Bingo, Pure Sun Farms, Re-Up, Original Stash, TWD.28, Daily Special, Grasslands and Simple Stash are all below $5.00 a gram. Even the unresponsive LPs like Cove (Cronos) and Canopy are reducing prices across the board. And, Sundial is one of the most aggressive price droppers.
