Strain Integrity
From the OCS website, ” Proudly situated in the heart of Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley, Robinsons is a Canadian producer of fine cannabis. Always small-batch and hand-tended, our product is grown for and best enjoyed by the discerning consumer. Driven by an unwavering commitment to craftsmanship, their focus has always been to grow the best cannabis—cannabis that is known simply as Robinsons.
A potent Indica-dominant Hybrid with densely stacked, frosty lime-green buds, Lemon Garlic OG was developed through intensive plant selection and breeding over generations. With spicy notes of pine, citrus and garlic, this distinctive strain contains high THC levels with virtually no CBD present.
To preserve the integrity and freshness of the product, Robinsons flower is packaged by hand in light-proof glass jars. This jar is reusable and may be used long after you’ve consumed Robinsons cannabis. ”
According to Leafly, ” Bred through years of selecting the most desirable cuts of True OG, Lemon Garlic OG is a hybrid from Humboldt Seed Organization. The aroma is a bit spicy with notes of garlic, citrus, and pine. Densely stacked buds are frosty lime green and produce heaps of trichomes, indicating good OG genetics. For anyone looking for the next evening strain, give Lemon Garlic OG a try. ”
Exoctica?
Lemon Garlic OG is a name we cannot resist. Packaged on July 28, 2020, Lemon Garlic OG by Robinsons, cost $55.97 for 3.5 grams and smelling very garlicky. Our test amount was 0.26 grams.
The “high” starts during our inhalation session and continues to build at a steady pace with growing euphoria and vibrant uplifting energy. While thoughts are clear, there is a buzziness in the background. The first 15 minutes goes by quickly as creative musing intensifies to complete the transition to the Lemon Garlic OG world.
At the half hour mark, Lemon Garlic OG reminded us that this is an Indica as our eyelids got heavier. The energy level is a steady calming flow energizing and refreshing us as we flow with the creative drifts. Our mental thoughts are clear, refreshed and blissful. Lemon Garlic OG is a nice unique blend of refreshing creative sativa with calming relaxing blissfulness of an Indica. We love new genetics but the drop in “high” intensity after one hour was a little more than we expected for the price.
Activity pairing for Lemon Garlic OG is best for relaxing social situations with limited physical demands. The sativa effects enhances social interactions while the Indica relaxes in the background.
Conclusion
Lemon Garlic OG by Robinsons
Another new East Coast premium LP, Robinsons is doing things right by bringing new genetics to the Canadian cannabis consumers. Lemon Garlic OG by Robinsons is an interesting new strain for the die-hard strain hunters like us. We enjoyed Lemon Garlic OG.
THC: 17.7%
Quality: 8.0
Intensity: 8.2
Duration: 8.0
Total: 8.06
Cost: $55.97 for 3.5 grams
Would we buy this again? No. This is another novelty priced cannabis. We hope Robinsons will be able to bring to market more reasonably priced products for these lower THC levels.
On an investment note, the current dramatic price reduction in Canada’s legal cannabis market is re-calibrating what are acceptable prices. Today, value products can have 20%+ THC at $5.00 a gram. For Robinson to be selling 17.7% THC at $15.99 a gram is difficult to reconcile for the majority of cannabis consumers. How many cannabis producers do market research into the competitors’ product quality? If they did, there would not be prices over $15 a gram, which is unsustainable.
