Strain Integrity

From Kolab Project, “ Produced in collaboration with Lotus Cannabis Co., Kalifornia is an indica dominant strain, bred from crossing Nepali OG with 88 G-13 Hashplant. Its aroma and tasting notes bring to mind dense, lush vegetation: woody and earthy, with sharp, spicy undertones.

According to Leafly, ” Nepali OG, also known as Nepal Kush, is a very strong and potent Indica-dominant cannabis strain. An offspring of OG Kush and landrace Nepali strains, this marijuana strain originated in the mountain ranges of Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and Nepal. Nepali OG’s THC content is reasonably high at about 21% while its CBD is roughly 0.3%.

On the 88 G13 Hashplant, ” Created in 1988 by NDNguy and widely circulated by Hazeman, ‘88 G13 Hashplant comes from crossing Mr. Nice’s G13 and Hashplant. Known for its sedative high, ‘88 G13 Hashplant puts out a deep array of flavors, from pine to incense, that sometimes taste just like smoking a bowl of bubble hash.

Crazy new genetic?

Kalifornia by Kolab Project cost $39.95 for 3.5 grams with 24.65% THC and a medicinal indica scent.  Packaged August 5th, 2020, about 4 weeks before this review, Kalifornia is a new genetic, which is very exciting for us … feels like Christmas.  Our test amount was 0.26 grams.

The “high” starts during the inhalation session powered by 24.65% THC.  The taste was harsh and unremarkable but the effect was forceful.   Five minutes after inhalation, Indica sedation was very prominent slowing our heartbeats to a calming rhythm.  Everything slows down as euphoria expands to encapsulate us in a cocoon of blissfulness where we can secretly spy on the world.   Ten minutes into the session the royal cerebralness entered to complete the Kalifornia experience with da magic carpet ride.

Half an hour later, the “high” reached cruising altitude where we were treated to a blend of calm dreamy blissful euphoria in a thick flowing time swirl.  Past the first hour, the “high” intensity remained strong as the effects became even more sedative with strong mental haziness and sluggishness.  We were tranquilized.  Kalifornia’s 24.65% THC “high” last a solid two hours with another hour of light mind and body sedation.

Activity pairing for this tranquilizing strain is best for the quiet self medicating moments.  This is great for that last “Call” for the evening.

Conclusion

Kalifornia by Kolab Project (Auxly)

Kalifornia by Kolab Project delivers a classic heavy THC Indica experience.  For fans of Indica, this Kalifornia’s 24.65% THC drives the Indica experience, which makes it worthy of a sample.

THC:  24.65%

Quality:  8.1

Intensity: 8.1

Duration:  8.1

Total:  8.1

Cost:  $39.95 for 3.5 grams

Would we buy this again?  Maybe.  There are just too many great cheaper alternatives available with Redecan’s Wappa, RIFF’s Hawaiian Heartbreak or Subway Scientist and FIGR’s No. 17 (Wappa) to name a few.  If you have not, however, tried the Kalifornia strain, this maybe a good opportunity to sample this genetic.

On an investment note, Kolab Project and Robinsons are not private craft growers but brands for a micro-cap cannabis company, Auxly.  Does Auxly really need to be listed on the Dusseldorf Stock Exchange in addition to the Vancouver Stock Exchange?  We hope the winning landscape looks like a kaleidoscope of small craft cultivators flourishing in our local communities creating sustainable lifestyles and not the mega-national monstrosities, which is so last century.
