Strain Integrity

According to Leafly, ” OG Kush was first cultivated in Florida, in the early ‘90s when a strain from Northern California was crossed with a Hindu Kush plant from Amsterdam. The result was a hybrid with a unique terpene profile that boasts a complex aroma with notes of fuel, skunk, and spice.

The genetic backbone of West Coast cannabis varieties, OG Kush arrived in Los Angeles in 1996 when Matt “Bubba” Berger brought it (along with “The Bubba,” which was later used to create the famed Bubba Kush) from Florida to legendary cultivator Josh D. Since then, OG Kush has become a worldwide staple used to create numerous famous strains like GSC and Headband. There are many different phenotypes of OG Kush, including Tahoe OG, SFV OG, and Ghost OG.

From the OCS website, ” Reflect™ is an indica hybrid strain that pairs well with calming activities and creative expression. Its earthy aroma comes with hints of piney and peppery notes that can be attributed to the terpenes myrcene, alpha-pinene and beta-caryophyllene.

Dancing on Sunshine

A price drop review, Reflect Reserve aka OG Kush by Cove packaged on July 17th, 2020, about 6 weeks before our review, cost $35.95 for 3.5 grams with 22.5% THC and some faint citrusy exoticness scent.  Our test amount was 0.26 grams.

The “high” starts with euphoria and joy.  OG Kush is a dreamy vibrant sunny blissful “high.”  In ten minutes, we were fully engaged in a vibrant world of radiating happiness … dancing on Sunshine … Oh yeah.  With clear mental focus and a lifting energy, our neurons sparkles with creativity as the World becomes a sunnier place.  This is the classic OG Kush world filled with a vibrant energy of joy.

At the half hour mark, this OG Kush has a nice blend of sativa sunshine and indica blissfulness.  There is an understated time distortion that is unknowingly debilitating.  Time flies powered by 22.5% THC.  The drop in intensity was barely noticeable after the first hour and the “high” lasted a few hours.  We find ourselves reaching out for this strain in later part of the day for a refreshing energy pickup.

Activity pairing for this vibrant strain shines in both physical and mental engagements.  This can be a strong productivity strain with an energy imbuing “high” combined with radiating “Joy” and clear mental creativity.  Under the influence of OG Kush, activities like playing video games or musical instruments can be greatly enhanced.

On an investment note, Cronos has finally lowered their Cove brand prices.  Aurora’s Daily Special $125 ounces generated 62% of their flower revenues.   While Aurora is deep in pricing discounts struggling to survive, Cronos with their brands Spinach and Cove are just getting into the price reduction program because they are not that worried about surviving given their main investor, Altria, one of the largest tobacco company in the world.
