Strain Integrity

According to Leafly, ” Cold Creek Kush is an indica-dominant hybrid that crosses the powerful MK Ultra and fellow Colorado native Chemdawg 91. The work of T.H. Seeds, this strain nabbed 2nd place at the 2010 High Times Cannabis Cup in the indica category. Cold Creek Kush flowers at 9 to 11 weeks, but must have adequate room to stretch out its limbs. Piney and sour, users rave over its fresh taste and balanced effects, which are relaxing without being too sleepy.

From the OCS website, “ Cold Creek Kush is a uniquely dark green indica flower, characterized by its rich trichome density and amber pistils at maturity.

Expect to dive into a pungent pool of gracious earthy aromas and sweet undertones of grape and citrus, thanks to ocimene, pinene and caryophyllene. We take special care during cultivation and post-harvest to ensure those terpene-rich trichomes remain nice and fresh until you open your stash.

This flower’s legendary parents, MK Ultra and Chemdog, provide this strain a strong THC potential. “

Anyone for crushing euphoria?

Cold Creek Kush UP20 by UP (Hexo) packaged on October 21, 2020, cost $29.95 for 3.5 grams with 23.89% THC and a sweet musky citrusy scent.  Our test amount was 0.26 grams.  This reminded us of our first Cold Creek Kush by Redecan.   The THC level, look, feel and smell were exactly the same.  Redecan’s CCK is from TH Seeds.

A 23.89% THC “high” always start swiftly and usually with a “Bang.”   The people who says THC does not matter are the people with low THC products.  THC matters.  Time dilation is THC’s best friend and Cold Creek Kush UP20 can stop time.  Between the 7 minute and 10 minute mark, it felt like half an hour.  Euphoria is the Name of The Game.   Intense time dilation and crushing euphoria combined to create a powerful destressing cocoon to heal and rejuvenate.  As the indica effects wrapped us in a euphoric time capsule creating a cocooning effect, creativity emerges about twenty minutes into the session  to completely transport us Kushland.  Da magic carpet has arrived.

The first hour disappeared without a trace.  The “high” intensity dropped slightly but remained essentially intact.  At the 90 minute mark, reality and functionality returns with time dilation subsiding.  There is body relaxation and a slow chilled mental rhythm.   Lethargicness slowly seeps into our senses.  Sweet surrender awaits the Cold Creek Kush’s end point.  The “high” last a solid two hours with another hour of chill after effects.

Activity pairing is best for the later part of the day, or evenings.  Cold Creek Kush is a great way to start the evening after a long hard day.  The initial sativa like “high” with cerebral stimulation will evolve into a more body tranquilizing “high” at the end.  Plan accordingly.

Conclusion

Cold Creek Kush UP20 by UP (Hexo)

Is Cold Creek Kush a Hybrid Indica or Sativa?  Redecan has their Cold Creek Kush as a Sativa dominant.  Cold Creek Kush UP20 is an Indica hybrid.  We actually thought the Redecan CCK should have been classified as an Indica because it was very blissful.  Whatever … this Cold Creek Kush UP20 rocks!

THC:  23.89%

Quality:  8.2

Intensity:  8.2

Duration:  8.1

Total:  8.16

Cost:  $29.95 for 3.5 grams

Would we buy this again?  Maybe?  The Redecan version is a little bit cheaper and almost identical in effects.  Both Redecan and UP20 Cold Creek Kush delivered crushing euphoria with strong cerebral stimulation and tranquilized end points.  We like them both.  We do recommend trying “ALL” UP20 products because they deliver strong impactful effects with 20%+ THC.

On an investment note, Hexo announced their Q1/2021 financial results today.  While revenues grew 14% quarter over quarter, the key take away for investors should be their $149.8 million in cash and operational cash use was only $6.1 million.  Congratulations! Hexo on a great quarter.  On another note, Aphria walked away with a truck load of awards from Kind Magazine.  These are two major LPs trying to do it right delivering great products at affordable prices.
