Strain Integrity
According to Leafly, ” Jack Herer is a sativa-dominant cannabis strain that has gained as much renown as its namesake, the marijuana activist and author of The Emperor Wears No Clothes. Combining a Haze hybrid with a Northern Lights #5 and Shiva Skunk cross, Sensi Seeds created Jack Herer hoping to capture both cerebral elevation and heavy resin production. Its rich genetic background gives rise to several different variations of Jack Herer, each phenotype bearing its own unique features and effects. However, consumers typically describe this 55% sativa hybrid as blissful, clear-headed, and creative. ”
From the OCS website, ” The hemporer’s new clothes smelling skunky, that’s what you get when you hang with blissful buds all day. Need to get away? Hit the road, Jack – you’ll find good, citrusy haze right Herer. ”
An old favourite, Jack Herer
Jack Herer by Good Supply (Aphria) packaged on August 20, 2020, cost $68.75 for 15 grams (Sale at local retailer) with 17.07% THC and a faint scent of floral citrus. Our test amount was 0.26 grams.
The “high” starts after inhalation with a light euphoric lift. The energy increase was slow and modest. On cue at the 10 minute mark, cerebral awakening started in earnest. Our mental focus was a bit hazy and fuzzy. As we approach the 15 minute mark, we have full ignition with time dilation and lazy memory joining the party. This is a nice sativa land with a light airy sunny ambiance to hang around and kill some time. For $4.58 a gram, Jack Here by Good Supply is delivering an adequate “high” experience.
Good Supply delivers dry small crushed buds with an industrial look and feel. But, the effects are usually very potent. Our experience with Jack Herer in the past have been better. We think our expectations based on past psychedelic Jack Here renditions have negatively affected this review.
On our walk about and shopping run review, we amped up the volume to 0.50 grams in an attempt to find something positive resulting in a more enjoyable “high.” The larger dose “high” had a surreal Alice in Wonderland ambiance with a vibrant clear smooth joyful energy, which was more inline with our expectations for a Jack Herer.
Activity pairing for this milder version of Jack Herer goes well with the mundane chores of life like laundry, vacuuming or washing dishes. With Jack Herer, no matter what the situation is there is always a bright side to it.
Conclusion
Jack Herer by Good Supply (Aphria)
Jack Herer by Good Supply (Aphria) is as expected, a good budget strain with decent effects. In larger doses, Jack Herer delivered what was expected, a vibrant uplifting energetic “high.” It is unfortunate this came right after Tropic Thunder by SHRED, which was cheaper and much more enjoyable with better effects. Good Supply did not deteriorate in quality. The competitors just got a lot better.
THC: 17.07%
Quality: 7.5
Intensity: 7.4
Duration: 7.6
Total: 7.5
Cost: $68.75 for 15 grams
Would we buy this again? No. We recommend trying the other Good Supply Royal Highness, or Monkey Glue, for more impactful “highs.” The low end of the cannabis market is extremely competitive with good potency and low pricing. Anything from SHRED, Grasslands, Twd, Daily Special and Original Stash, to name a few, are competitive alternative products. While we are big fans of Jack Herer, we recommend passing on this rendition.
On an investment note, having lived in the “Tech Bubble,” we have seen how the gyrations of stock prices can crush the human spirit of employees. If the stock price is too high, the employee cannot work as they really want to crystalize and spend the wealth they think they have. If the stock plunges, they cannot work because their retirement future is gone and now they are depressed. Thinking you have hundreds of millions and loosing it is a soul draining experience. There are a couple of major LPs where the Founders have checked out. Can you tell who they are? This is what happens when you chase the money.
