According to Leafly, ” Duke Nukem may be named after a video game character who spends his days obliterating “alien bastards,” but this strain is a lot more laidback than its action hero namesake. The mostly sativa hybrid produces an active mental high that is uplifting and may have you feeling more creative than commando. It’s a cross between Chemmando and Chernobyl and flowers in 9 to 11 weeks. The strain is a fairly easy plant to grow and should give medium to high yields. Its buds are known to be especially colorful with shades of frosty pinks and oranges. Careful not to confuse this strain with Nuken, which is a different indica dominant hybrid. ”
From the OCS website, ” The RC Dukem was selected for its classic spicy herbaceous citrus, sativa dominant ancestry and its timeless subtle purple and green colours. The RC Dukem is a sativa dominant hybrid that pairs a very strong THC potential with an earthy radish aroma with a citrus finish (>1.5% terpene). The RC Dukem comes form a Chernobyl x Chemmando cross that gives its flowers an earthy metallic sweetness and a subtle purple green colouration. ”
A video game classic remake
RC Dukem by Royal City Cannabis Co., packaged on December 7, 2020, cost $42.95 for 3.5 grams with 20.18% THC with a scent reminiscent of a Blue Dream hybrid. Our test amount was 0.26 gram.
The “high” starts with a light euphoria lift lulling us into a calm serene space before the storm, which came quickly and suddenly. At the ten minute mark, we lost track of time and memory direction, which effectively disorientated us creating a short sense of panic. Creativity, the hallmark of a good sativa, is here. This is a busy and noisy mental “high” with noticeable elements of happiness powered by a steady energy flow. Fifteen minutes later, its “Party Time!”
RC Dukem’s stunning visual appeal is backed up by an equally stunning “high.” The psychedelic sound effects with a busy noisy euphoric mind release a new vibrant joyful persona within us just looking for a place to Party. RC Dukem with a Blue Dream type of scent delivered a similar hybrid sativa “high.” Forty five minutes later, the “high” slowly transform to a heavier blissfulness sedating the body as the mind calms down. At the end of two hours, we felt very relaxed and mentally chilled.
Activity pairing is best for the later part of the day or evening time slot. RC Dukem’s Dukem provided a functional happy creative “high” that can go well with evening social relaxation.
RC Dukem by Royal City Cannabis Co.
We are fans of Royal City Cannabis Co. and this RC Dukem would make Duke Nuken proud. RC Dukem is a full mind and body “high” that has a forceful but functional presence.
Cost: $42.96 for 3.5 grams
Would we buy this again? Maybe, at a lower price and a larger volume offering? Greybeard (Thrive Cannabis) launched with a 7 gram offering and we are now expecting similar products from craft growers. 3.5 grams is just an appetizer. We want a full meal deal with 7 grams, which is more satisfying and memorable.
On an investment note, Royal City Cannabis Co. is an employee owned LP. They are open for private investors who meet the investment criteria, which is the ability to loose the money invested. We believe in employee owned business model. Powered by their passion for the “Herb,” the business goal is to provide sustainable employment for the community and a steady modest return for investors, which is a refreshing breath of fresh air.
Decent AA-AAA quality strain by the read up of it. Would never buy it more anything more than 1200/ pound though.
We use to buy in Lbs 15 years ago from the Sunshine Coast, B.C. outdoor grown harvest at a cost of $150 an ounce from the folks that created “Time Warp.” When supply got better, we bought quarter Lbs. Now that it is legal, we buy in 3.5 grams.
