Strain Integrity
According to Leafly, ” Animal Face is a rare sativa-dominant marijuana strain made by crossing Face Off OG and Animal Mints. It takes the piney, gassy terpene profile and potent high from Face Off OG and pairs it with the cookie flavored smoothness of Animal Mints. Animal Face is known for giving a full mind and body-numbing high that lets you drift off into physical and mental bliss. Bred by the famed Seed Junky Genetics, Animal Face draws from some of the more famous California genetics, making it a great choice for anyone wanting to taste a bit of history. ”
From the OCS website, ” Bred by Seed Junky Genetics in California, Animal Face is an ultra-potent, flavourful sativa dominant hybrid created through crossing the Face Off OG clone and Animal Mints male. Our version of Animal Face was selected out of 100 different phenos, not only for its high potency and terpene profile, but also because of its unique flavours of walnut cake and pine. As with all of our products, this strain is hang dried, hand trimmed and cold cured for a minimum of 14 days. ”
Face Palmed!
Animal Face by Carmel packaged on December 9, 2020, cost $48.50 for 3.5 grams with 25.88% THC and a strong piney earthy peppery herbal scent. Our test amount was 0.26 grams.
The “high” starts with promise as we inhale. We could feel the euphoric force with each inhalation. By the end of the inhalation session, the lift picks up at a dizzying speed. Noteworthy, the taste was amazing. In 5 minutes! we were launched. It’s a good thing our head is physically attached to our body to prevent it from taking off. Ten minutes later, rays of sunny happiness appear to shine on our creative garden. Something “Wonderful” is happening. We are getting “Faced Palmed!”
Twenty minutes later, Animal Face delivered a complete transformation to an euphoric ethereal being. From this vantage point, we can see the World in a whole new light. Creativity is Life. We are born to create. The first hour hour melted away without a trace. Animal Face by Carmel is an intense sativa delivered a dizzying “high” followed by creative orchestral fireworks lasting two hours and more. We fully enjoyed this very expensive strain.
Activity pairing is for any activity where fun is desired. Animal Face has a unique profile expressing the dizzying “high” from Face Off OG as a key distinctive trait. We believe this strain can be weaponized and might go well with social gatherings in a post-Covid World.
Conclusion
Animal Face by Carmel
Animal Face by Carmel is a new intensely vibrant sativa strain from a new craft grower. This is a very expensive psychedelic sativa with transformative powers. Naturally, we recommend trying Animal Face by Carmel.
THC: 25.88%
Quality: 9.0
Intensity: 8.6
Duration: 8.3
Total: 8.63
Cost: $48.50 for 3.5 grams
Would we buy his again? Yes. Animal Face by Carmel defines the Premium quality we would expect from an expensive cannabis strain. Everything about Animal Face is quality. The smell and bud structure is very similar to Broken Coast famed “Ruxton.” Animal Face’s “High” is also unique. We recommend giving this expensive strain a try for that special occasion.
On an investment note, Carmel launched on January 15, 2021, is a spanking brand new craft grower on the OCS shelf. The cannabis World is unfolding just like beer World. We have the majors like Canopy, Hexo, Aurora and Aphria producing cannabis like Molson and Coors beers. Craft beer brewers, however, are now gaining market share with tastier products and we hope the same trend will emerge in the cannabis industry.
Great review! Your one of the best cannabis reviewers on the internet in my opinion due to your ability to cover scent, taste and effects – keep it up!
I’m very intrigued by your reviews on Animal Face, Msiku Nova Glue, Truro Secret, and Truro Wedding Mint. I know they aren’t similar but if I’m paying that much want the “best high” – I value intensity and a unique high. Which one would you recommend and can you give a brief comparison of the effects?
For reference, my favourite strains are: Ruxton, 7acres jean guy, and SR Pink Kush (2019 version @20%) – I love the dual cerebral and body high
Thanks!
WOW, Thank you!
For the strains you have an interest and the type of strains preferred, Ruxton is unreplaceable. Truro Secret and Wedding Mint along with Msiku Nova Glue are all amazing “highs” delivering a full spectrum experience with forceful effects. For the 7 Acres Jean Guy, we would like to suggest a sleeper Strawberry Ice by Northern Harvest with a Jean Guy type of “high.” SR’71 Pink Kush equivalent may include Haven St. Midnight Jam (8 Ball Kush) or Ice Cream Cake, which is a new Indica strain with a heavy blissfulness effect.
Instead of recommending a particular strain, we wold recommend LPs we consider seriously craft growers. Msiku, Truro and Carmel are in a league of their own comparable to Broken Coast and WMMC, which are the two benchmark LPs for us. There are also other craft growers equally talented like OGEN, MTL, and Citizen Stash to name a few.
Enjoy!
PS: If you want to try some amazing stuff not on the Menu, you will need to get a medical to access Whistler Medical Marijuana Corporation. They are the oldest medical cannabis cultivator in Canada and their portfolio of strains is out of this world. WMMC is more of a sativa shop with some of the best sativa like Sour Jack, Blue Cheese with one of the most amazing scent, Yakusha an incredible proprietary strain and more. WMMC oil is special unlike any other cannabis oil in the market. Each oil has a unique “high” profile and clearly identifiable, which is not the case for everyone including Broken Coast. The OCS WMMC product priced at $19 to $22 a gram are absolutely nonsense. Go medical with WMMC for their strains and oils. The only downside to WMMC is the COST. The oils are $100 for 30 ml.
Thanks for your prompt response! I understand what you mean about looking at the LPs rather than the specific strains. The reason why I asked about these specific strains is because I rarely make a purchase that expensive, so when I do, I want to get the “best” product available. I’ve been doing research and as you said, the top LPs seem to be citizen stash, broken coast, truro, msiku and carmel. However, citizen stash is too expensive – one day I’ll try their MAC-1.
Sorry to ask a follow up question but if I were to buy 2 of Animal face, Nova Glue, Secret, and Wedding Mint, which 2 would you recommend? I don’t really care about having 1 indica, 1 sativa. Rather, I want 2 strains that are different with unique and intense highs that are not similar.
I will give Strawberry Ice by Northern Harvest a try too. Pretty sure my friend had it a few months ago and loved it!
Go with Animal Face by Carmel because it is close to a Ruxton. Intensity is right up there with Ruxton but the “high” is a clear headspace not unlike a MAC-1 or a Sour Jack. This strain pairs well with a cup of coffee first thing in the morning for a big loud “Hello World.”
Truro Secret offers an intense cerebral wonderland “high” under a blissful umbrella. Since we prize creativity, these are the two creative “highs” worth experiencing each with a unique twist. This strain will wake you up from the late evening stupor with a forceful creative energy boost.
Enjoy :)
