Strain Integrity
From the OCS website, ” Pineapple Cake tastes exactly like its pastry namesake and does not disappoint in aroma and flavour. With Golden Pineapple and Trophy Wife as its parents, it’s no surprise this hybrid’s flavours are reminiscent of sweet tropical fruits with a beautiful blend of savoury herbs and spice on the exhale. ”
According to Leafly, ” Golden Pineapple is a hybrid cross between Golden Goat and Pineapple Kush that delivers creative, uplifting effects with a fruity, tropical flavor. Its aroma is remarkably similar to sour pineapple, providing a flavorful escape from stress, anxiety, and depression. Golden Pineapple’s engaged, active effects will give you the energy you need to keep going throughout your day, although in larger doses, it can be difficult to direct that focus effectively. ”
And Trophy Wife, ” Bred by HGH Seeds, Trophy Wife crosses The Wife with Cherry Wine. This CBD heavy strain flowers quickly in 8 weeks, producing a quality yield with resin-coated lime green buds. This strain has a flavor profile with notes of cheese and skunk and undertones of cherry. ”
Note: On the OCS website, Pineapple Cake link is https://ocs.ca/products/pineapple-cake-qwest-pineapple-upside-down-cake, which is a Pineapple Upside Down Cake? Readers should note that this is sometimes a good way to determine the underlying strain using the OCS website hyperlink description. But, this is not dependable.
What a Sunny Day!
Pineapple Cake by Qwest packaged on January 13, 2021, cost $54.95 with 23.78% THC and a faint exotic sweet peppery and citrusy scent. Our test amount was 0.26 grams.
The “high” starts after inhalation with a clear mental euphoric creative lift. Pineapple Cake’s “high” was a purposeful steady increase in intensity over the first 10 minutes. With increasing clarity, euphoria, creativity and good intent, Pineapple Cake is like a good Pineapple Express with a smoother energy flow. At the 15 minute mark, we could still feel the ramping up of Pineapple Cake. Twenty minutes later, Pineapple Cake delivered a bright sunny disposition with a smooth optimistic creative energy propelling us forward … exactly what we were expecting from a Pineapple. Wake & Bake.
Cannabis fruit strains like Banana, Strawberry, Orange, Lemon, Apple and Pineapple have copious amount of creativity blended with smooth blissfulness, or bristling with electric energy like a Pineapple Express. In Our Humble Opinion, the cannabis fruit strains blend the best of Sativa and Indica characteristics together. Pineapple Cake delivers a clear euphoric creative and happy “high” for a solid two hours with relaxing after effects for another hour.
Activity pairing for this vibrant and energetic strain is best for the day time slots. We enjoyed this strain with coffee first thing in the morning. Is that OK?

Would we buy this again? Unfortunately, No. The pricing is too expensive. We did this review because we LOVE Pineapples. For similar “Wake & Bake” effects at cheaper prices, try 7 Acres’ Jack Haze, Spinach’s Diesel, Emerald’s Grapefruit GG1 or MTL’s Sage N Sour. But if you like Pineapples and have money to burn, give this a try.
On an investment note, Decibel Cannabis is a new public cannabis company from a Reverse Take Over (RTO) of IGC Resources Inc. at the beginning of 2019. Through a series of acquisitions, Qwest is now a Brand of Decibel. Saskatchewan Thunderchild First Nation invested $8 million in Decibel for Thunderchild Cultivation in Battleford, Saskatchewan, which appears to be an exciting development not unlike Msiku and MJardin.
