Strain Integrity
According to Leafly, ” This strain has quite a few myths circulating about its original appearance. It blew up in San Diego before spreading to the rest of the West Coast. Afghani Bullrider is pretty to look at, with light green buds covered in orange hairs, and has a strong sweet and sour smell with some piney freshness. This strain is a heavy hitter that delivers strong couchlock effects, but won’t leave you feeling sleepy. It heads straight to the brain and may boost creative thoughts while providing physical relaxation. ”
From the OCS website, “ The Afghani Bullrider cultivar has a storied history in the Canadian cannabis landscape. It is the namesake of our BLLRDR brand, and we are proud to offer the market this legendary strain.
Large, green fluffy buds, with a noticeably high concentration of long amber pistols, present a flower that emits sweet & sour aroma’s with fruity notes.
The terpene profile is dominated by two terps – Myrcene and Farnesene – which lend to a consistent and predictable flavour profile from batch to batch. ”
Cerebral Hibernation
Afghani Bullrider by BLLRDR packaged on December 14, 2020, cost $59.95 for 3.5 grams with a faint exotic sweet earthy citrus scent. Our test amount was 0.26 grams.
The Afghani Bullrider’s high” starts with a buzzy euphoric heady lift after inhalation ended. The buzzy euphoric head “high” increasing intensity continued as we past the 10 minute mark. There is a blissfulness in the air with body relaxation drawing us into a slow motion World … Indica Land. For Jazz music fans, this is the strain to pair up with. Fifteen minutes later, we find ourselves in an ultra relax state of hibernation. It’s the furthest thing from being a Bullrider.
Time dilation and creativity blossomed with full effects half an hour after the session started. This is a bit of a creeper not unlike the Afghani Drifter. There’s a break from consensus and we do not agree on the effectiveness of the “high.” We suspect part of the negative perception came from the slow creeping effects. In addition, we have a reader emailing us specifically this was a “BullS…” strain.
Activity pairing is best for the evening time slots. Afghani Bullrider is no crazy “high” but a smooth gentle calming “high.” Watching Netflix and chilling is an activity that can be enhanced with Afghani Bullrider for some cerebral hibernation.
Conclusion
Afghani Bullrider by BLLRDR (Robes Cannabis/MJardin Group)
Afghani Bullrider by BLLRDR is grown by MJardin Group, the LP behind Msiku, one of the best craft growers in Canada. The expectations is exceptionally “high.” And? This is not bad but we like the Msiku products better. But, this is a MJardin product and it is worth a try?
THC: 20.7%
Quality: 7.8
Intensity: 7.8
Duration: 8.0
Total: 7.86
Cost: $59.95 for 3.5 grams
Would we buy this again? No. At an effective price of $479.60 an ounce, the pricing is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous for the “high.” We tried this because it was grown by MJardin. Afghani Bullrider, however, failed to deliver an impressive “high” worthy of the price. It appears, Msiku (The Student) can grow better than MJardin (The Teacher). Really?
On an investment note, BLLRDR is a Robes Cannabis brand. Robes Cannabis was founded by Maxim Zavet, Co-Founder of Emblem and Jef Tek, Master Grower and keeper of Afghani Bullrider strain, a strain central to BLLRDR. It is clear there is a passion to deliver Afghani Bullrider to the public. Every strain in the market has a story to tell. But, we need more work on the execution part.
