Strain Integrity
According to Leafly, ” Sensi Star is a potent indica marijuana strain. The effects of this strain will make you feel relaxed and sedated from head-to-toe. Consumers with a low THC tolerance should use caution when smoking Sensi Star, as THC levels have been reported as high as 20%. Growers say this strain has crystal trichomes that sparkle against dark green and purple coloration. Sensi Star can be grown both indoors and outdoors. Medical marijuana patients choose this strain to help relieve symptoms associated with insomnia. ”
From the OCS website, ” Haven St. No 417 Indigo Daze greets you with pungent lemon, accompanied by sweet and earthy aromas. Black pepper notes may also linger through the nose. The Indica dominant strain has dense green buds covered in crystal trichomes. High levels of the terpene Myrcene are present, giving the flower its sweet yet earthy aroma, as well as the terpene Limonene, for its citrus aromas. ”
A Special Sensi Star
No 417 Indigo Daze aka Sensi Star by Heaven St. (TerrAscend) packaged on February 26, 2021, cost $34.15 for 3.5 grams with 26.49% THC and a strong sweet gassy earthy floral vanilla scent. Our test amount was 0.26 grams.
The “high” starts with a buzzing euphoric Lift with joyful exuberance growing in intensity. A quick 5 minute launch sends us accelerating into an altered state. 26.49% THC can send waves of anxious palpitations for some folks. Time dilation goes Slow Mo to complete the disorientation.
Past the 15 minute mark, the “high” continues to modulate its effects going from a buzzing state of mind to a clear calmer state of mind, which is what we were expecting “a crystal clear sunshine High.” Creativity flows freely.
Around the 45 minute mark, No 417 Indigo Daze’s “high” drop in intensity to a more functional “high.” This Sensi Star was not what we expected with a lot more intense Indica like effects. There is a heavy body and mind numbing unfolding as the “high” progress making us feel very tranquilized like a heavy Indica. By the end of two hours, hitting the pillow was a very attractive endpoint.
Activity pairing for this Sensi Star is best for the evening time slots. Unlike past Sensi Star, which were more sativa like, this is a potent Indica phenotype of Sensi Star. Beware, this could put you to sleep.
Conclusion
No 417 Indigo Daze (Sensi Star) by Haven St. (TerrAscend)
No 417 Indigo Daze (Sensi Star) by Haven St. (TerrAscend) is a potent Indica with a strong creative heavy tranquilizing effect. While there were the usual elements like strong creativity, the sedation effects really stood out for this Sensi Star rendition. Would we buy this again? Maybe. It’s time for Haven St. to offer 7 grams? Haven St. is the perfect example of industrial production delivering a “Bang” effect. Visual impact of Haven St. products can be dismal with stems, shakes and broken pieces. But, Haven St. brings some of the best “Highs” at reasonable high-end pricing of below $10 a gram. We really like Haven St. as an LP.
On an investment note, TerrAscend is one of the stronger performer both financially and in delivering strong products at reasonable prices. Operating primarily in the US, TerrAscend, a Canadian Cannabis Company, is something we can be proud off.
