Strain Integrity

According to Leafly, ” GMO Cookies, also known as as “GMO Garlic Cookies” and “Garlic Cookies,” is a potent indica-dominant hybrid marijuana strain made by crossing Girl Scout Cookies with Chemdawg. This strain produces a euphoric high with mentally uplifting effects. Consumers say Garlic Cookies promotes an incredible body high that leaves you feeling relaxed and free from pain. In large doses, this strain may lock you to the sofa and make you feel sedated. As a descendent from Girl Scout Cookies, you can expect louds flavors from Garlic Cookies, like a diesel aroma and a garlic-forward taste that lingers on your tastebuds. Medical marijuana patients choose this strain to help relieve symptoms associated with chronic pain, depression, and nausea. According to growers, Garlic Cookies flowers into light green, spade-shaped buds that are dusted with white trichomes and curly orange hairs. This strain was originally bred by Mamiko Seeds.

From Spinach, ” Don’t let the name deceive you. GMO (Garlic, Mushroom, Onion) Cookies has an unmistakable sweet and savory taste and is one of the most sought-after and popular Indica strains out there. You can’t make a soup out of it, but it sure goes nicely in a bowl.  “

Note:  There is some controversy as to what GMO really stands for.

A 30%+ THC Strain

GMO Cookies by Spinach (Cronos) packaged on May 4th, 2021, cost $28.95 for 3.5 grams with 30.9% THC and an earthy piney scent.  Our test amount was 0.26 grams.

A 30% THC’s “high” starts immediately with rushing sensations in the head.  By the 10 minute mark, there’s a dense euphoric fog of accelerated buzzing and increase heart rate.  There is not much creativity here.  We are also missing happiness and joy.  All there is is a euphoric buzzing with an accelerated sense of being giving us the sensation of moving while stationary.  It is awesome and underwhelming at the same time.  The 30% THC is awesome but the expressions are underwhelming.

Are we expecting too much from 30% THC?  All those Ice Cream Cake renditions are more enjoyable with lower THC.  At the 20 minute mark, there is a bit more creativity and joyfulness.  Time slowed down even more as the Indica effects emerge.  This GMO Cookies delivered two hours of “high” with another hour of light  afterglow effects.

Activity pairing is best during the day.  Thirty percent of THC will deliver an undeniable energy pickup effect.  We would use this as a replacement for a very strong cup of expresso coffee with special effects.

Conclusion

GMO Cookies by Spinach (Cronos)

GMC Cookies by Spinach is one of the highest THC strain reviewed by us.  We asked for high THC and we got high THC.  And, we are not impressed giving credence to “THC does not matter.”  What’s going on?  Low terpenes?  But, you should try it anyways because it has over 30% THC and relatively cheap.

THC:   30.9%

Quality:  8.0

Duration:  8.0

Intensity:  8.0

Total:  8.0

Cost:  $28.95 for 3.5 grams

Would we buy this again?  Yes.  Despite the underwhelming “high” experience, our respect for over 30% THC and the “Pop” have value for us.  We found this to be an excellent ingredient for making strain salads (mixing different strain to create unique effects).    We are just suckers for big THC ratings despite the underwhelming experience.  Maybe, our expectations were too “high?”

On an investment note, owned by Altria, the second largest tobacco producer in the world, Cronos (Spinach) has about $1 billion in cash and essentially no debt. While a strategic investment from Altria seem like a marriage made in Heaven, whatever wonderful expectations out of this union remained locked up and unrealized.  For Cronos. money falls from “Heaven.”
