Strain Integrity

According to allbud.com, “ First Class Funk is a slightly indica dominant hybrid strain (60% indica/40% sativa) created through crossing the delicious GMO X Jet Fuel strains. Named for its super heavy stench, First Class Funk brings on classic indica effects with a super high level of potency that will knock out even the most experienced of patients. That being said, mind your dosage with this bud if you have any plans for the rest of the day or night! The high comes on with a creeping effect, sneaking up on you a few minutes after your final toke before launching you into a new plane of existence. You’ll feel a heady relaxation that’s unfocused and blissful accompanied by a super sedative body high that leaves you completely immovable. This combination quickly turns sleepy, leaving you dozing off before you know it. In combination with its super high 29-33% average THC level, these effects make First Class Funk perfect for treating experienced patients suffering from chronic pain, arthritis, cramps or muscle spasms and appetite loss or nausea.

From the OCS website, ” The Ghost Drops cut of First-Class Funk was bred by Compound Genetics, hunted by Cultivating Happiness and grown by several ultra-premium, hand selected, and vetted craft micro-producers. The genetic make-up of this strain contributes to what it’s best known for, its funk. Buds are typically large in size and bright green in colour featuring dark green undertones, highlighted by brilliant orange pistils and coated with dense diamond like trichomes. Its heavy nose smacks you in the face as you crack the jar, with a pungent funky, creamy, fragrance compounded by a dense scent of jet fuel, making for an undeniably dank aroma. The funk tastes as funky as it smells with notes of fermented anise and fennel coupled by gassy aftertaste as it rolls off the palate.

The “high” starts with a smooth tasty inhalation session bringing on a gradual change in our perception.  As we gain altitude leaving behind a noisy world, First Class Funk’s copious amount of blissfulness calms and soothes our Soul.  At the 15 minute mark, the “high” continues to climb layering in heavier body sedation.  Time misbehaves.  Half an hour later, a cloak of heavy blissful calmness falls on us as we enter a meditative trance.

First Class Funk’s “high” keeps evolving hitting the 45 minute mark with stronger body and mind sedation effects to fully immobilize us.  Based on past experience with heavy Indica, we avoided the Great Outdoors test and kept closer to the Couch.  First Class Funk delivered three plus hours of medicated effects.

Activity pairing is best in the evening time slots.  First Class Funk has a long 30 minute take-off runway, which is perfect for an after dinner treat.

Would we buy this again?  No.  This is just a sampler not meant to be repurchased.  There is a lot of hype on the Ghost Drops brand.  Maybe, had we gotten the 30%+ THC batch, we may be more favourable?  But, if there is money to burn, First Class Funk is worth trying.  Otherwise, for something similar, try some Triangle Kush from BC Black Kettle?

On an investment note, Ghost Drops did not identify the cultivator for First Class Funk because there were too many other cultivators producing the same strain?  7Greens credited for First Class Funk was scrapped off the reddit/GhostDropsOfficials.  While Ghost Drops is a helpful and necessary part of the cannabis ecosystem to help graduate Legacy growers to the Legal market, the additional cost and higher pricing makes this a tough sell.
