Strain Integrity
From the OCS website, “ Gelato 29 is a distinct sativa-dominant hybrid that maintains traits that make Gelato hybrids highly popular – fluffy buds with touches of purple, orange pistils and super sweet terpene profile. Gelato 29 sets itself apart with lighter green buds and shiny white trichomes all over. Not just pretty to look at, Gelato 29’s aroma is a mouth-watering crowd-pleaser — bold fruity and berry with slight undertones of vanilla and cream. Gelato 29 UP20™ flower is indoor-grown in our Atholville, New Brunswick facility and promises to deliver 20% THC or higher. Every time. ”
A Sativa strain?

The “high” starts with a harsh inhalation session and a progressive euphoric lift. With an unassuming discreet increase in intensity, the “high” effects seem to appear suddenly. At the 15 minute mark, we have cerebral stimulation with euphoric goodwill and light tranquil acceleration. Mental focus is more hazy than clear. Keeping track of time becomes a problem. It’s all good.
In real world review, Gelato 29 delivered a a hybrid sativa blissful euphoric “high?” This Gelato 29 really feels very blissful with Zero edginess, which makes us think this is more Indica. Past the half hour mark, light body sedative effects emerge to confirm its Indica heritage.
Activity pairing is best in the latter part of the day. Gelato 29 is a bit of a creeper with decent cerebral stimulation encapsulated in a blissful cocoon.

Would we buy this again? Unlikely. While there is nothing wrong with the “high,” Gelato 29 just does not stand out for us. But, if you have not tried a Gelato 29 that is a “Sativa,” this is the opportunity?
On an investment note, UP, one of the first LP to hit the legal market, was sold to Hexo and rebranded as UP20. In the last year, Hexo has acquired a few more LPs like 48North, Namaste and Redecan. Now, wait for the massive write-downs from these acquisitions. Greed is Blind.
